Abstract: A bed foundation for supporting a mattress having framework pieces and a platform base. The framework pieces may include a footboard panel, a headboard panel, and a pair of side bed rails. The platform base may include a pocketed tarp formed of a rectangular shaped sheet material having a multiplicity of pockets formed on the bottom side. A multiplicity of slats conformingly sized for the multiplicity of pockets, each slat having a length longer than a side margin to side margin width of the pocketed tarp, may be inserted into the multiplicity of pockets. The platform base may further include adjustable and easy to assemble central support structure.
