  • Publication number: 20040226508
Abstract: The apparatus for the thermal spray delivery of a precursor solution comprises a first solution reservoir, a second solution reservoir, singular or multiple atomizing liquid injector(s) disposed in fluid communication with the reservoirs, a flame source configured to direct a spray from the atomizing liquid injector to a substrate, and a thermal control device disposed in thermal communication with the substrate. The method of depositing a precursor solution at a substrate to form a coating comprises maintaining a substrate at a pre-selected temperature, delivering the precursor solution from a reservoir bank, atomizing the precursor solution, injecting the atomized precursor solution into a flame, and directing the flame to the substrate.

  • Publication number: 20040018409
Abstract: A solid oxide fuel cell comprises a dense electrolyte disposed between a porous anode and a porous cathode wherein the dense electrolyte comprises doped lanthanum gallate or yttria stabilized zirconia, the porous anode comprises yttrium-doped strontium titanate, yttrium-doped strontium titanate and nickel, lanthanum-doped ceria and nickel or yttria stabilized zirconia and nickel and the porous cathode comprises doped lanthanum ferrite or strontium-doped lanthanum manganite. The fuel cell may further comprise an interlayer(s) comprising lanthanum-doped ceria disposed between an electrode (anode, cathode or both) and the electrolyte. An interconnect layer comprising doped lanthanum chromate may be disposed between the anode of a first single fuel cell and the cathode of a second single fuel cell. The anode, cathode, electrolyte and optional interlayer(s) are produced by thermal spray.

  • Publication number: 20030205535
Abstract: The invention is directed to a method of purifying water and wastewater as a fluent coming from industrial plants, municipal sewage systems, reservoirs and other water supplies and residential community and commercial water and sewage supplies and systems. The method includes the steps of running the wastewater as a fluent into a headworks where some preliminary treatment takes place. From there the fluent is passed into a primary reservoir. The fluent in the primary reservoir is analyzed as to certain control parameters such as pH and conductivity. Thereafter the fluent flows into a primary reactor having a plurality of electrolytic cells therein. While in that reactor the fluent is subjected to electrolytic reactions. The effluent from the primary reactor passes through a ratio weir into a secondary receptor. The secondary receptor contains sensors for the measurement of control parameters such as pH, (total suspended solids) TSS and chlorine. Thereafter, the fluent is passed to a filtering device.
