  • Patent number: 11977778
Abstract: A method performed by a processing device receives a plurality of write operation requests, where each of the write operation requests specifies a respective one of the memory units, identifies one or more operating characteristic values, where each operating characteristic value reflects one or more memory access operations performed on a memory device, and determines whether the operating characteristic values satisfy one or more threshold criteria. Responsive to determining that the operating characteristic values satisfy the one or more threshold criteria, the method performs a plurality of write operations, where each of the write operations writes data to the respective one of the memory units, and performs a multiple-read scan operation subsequent to the plurality of write operations, where the multiple-read scan operation reads data from each of the memory units.

  • Publication number: 20240069765
Abstract: A system can include a processing device operatively coupled with the one or more memory devices, to perform operations that include writing data to the one or more memory devices and performing one or more scan operations on a management unit containing the data to determine a current value of a chosen data state metric. Each scan operation can be performed using a corresponding predetermined read-time parameter value. The operations can include determining whether the current value of the chosen data state metric satisfies a criterion, and can also include, responsive to determining that the current value of the chosen data state metric satisfies the criterion, selecting a remedial operation by determining whether redundancy metadata is included in a fault tolerant data stripe on the one or more memory devices. The operations can also include performing the remedial operation with respect to the management unit.

  • Patent number: 7409208
Abstract: A software download service on a mobile network provides users with personalized catalog presentations identifying software products available for downloading. Customer-specific preferences are established, for example, by input by the customer using a web-interface on a personal computer or on their mobile station, or by processing of user data such as demographics and usage history. The resulting user preferences are stored in a database. When each customer operates a mobile station to access the download service, the listing(s) of available software products are filtered and/or prioritized using the customer's individual preference(s). As a result, the service provides a ‘catalog’ of available software products that has been tailored to the particular user based on that user's preference(s). Consequently, customers can easily find applications that appeal to their interest, which improves both the sales take rate and the customer experience.

  • Patent number: 6728531
Abstract: An internet radio for portable applications and uses such as in an automobile enables remotely configuring a wireless communication device comprising the steps of remotely configuring a format for providing content on said wireless communication device for a first user; remotely configuring a second format for providing content on said wireless communication device for a second user; receiving configuration data representing said format for said first user and said format for said second user from a remote network; and providing selected content from content downloaded from said network. Customized information is also communicated to the radio such as stock quotes, travel information, advertising, and e-mail. Onboard global positioning allows for channel updating by location, traffic information, geographic advertising and available similar content.

  • Publication number: 20030121043
Abstract: An audio input interface (122) receives a digital audio signal and identifies an audio bitstream which is optionally decrypted by a decryption unit (123), and decoded by an audio decoding unit (124). An audio digital to analog converter (126) converts the decoded audio bitstream to an analog audio signal which is optionally decrypted by an audio analog decryption unit (127). A video input interface (142) receives a digital video signal and identifies a video bitstream which is optionally decrypted by a video digital decryption unit (143), and decoded by a video decoding unit (144). A video digital to analog converter (146) converts the decoded video bitstream to an analog video signal that is optionally decrypted by a video analog decryption unit (147). An analog transmitter (150) mixes the analog audio signal and analog video signal and transmits an analog wireless output signal to an analog wireless device (110).

  • Publication number: 20020087330
Abstract: A method of communicating a set of audio content (300) from a communications node (104) to a remote communications node (200) includes assigning a set of content identifiers (115) to a set of audio content (300) via a user configuration device (116), wherein the user configuration device (116) is separate from a remote communications node (200) but coupled to communications node (104). The set of audio content (300) is requested utilizing the set of content identifiers (115) via remote communications node (200). The set of audio content (300) is converted from an encoded audio format (160, 162, 164) to a canonical audio format (166) at communications node (104). The requested set of audio content (300) in canonical audio format (166) is communicated from communications node (104) to remote communications node (200).

  • Patent number: 5397040
Abstract: A waist belt having a variety of individual storage compartments within a single fabric pack supported by the belt. Within the pack is a number of variously sized generally rigid containers fitted removably within top or upper fabric storage compartments of the pack for holding fishing gear. The rigid containers are retained within the fabric compartments with the use of hook and loop fasteners mating between the bottom of the rigid containers and the bottom of the fabric compartments. The top edges of the rigid containers slope downward away from the belt or wearer to provide improved access to items therein. Exposed lids of the rigid containers are hingidly attached to the containers, and open or swing away from the wearer of the belt. The lids additionally include markings for specific items such as hooks, lures, swivels, and weights which may be contained in individual designated compartments for quick access thereto.
