  • Patent number: 11971190
Abstract: A damper assembly includes a frame having an inner surface and a protrusion extending inwardly relative to the inner surface, a damper blade coupled to the frame and configured to transition between an open position and a closed position, and a latch coupled to the inner surface of the frame. The latch is configured to deform to facilitate transition of the damper blade between the open position and the closed position and to expand to capture and retain the damper blade in the closed position, the latch includes a tab segment configured to move toward the protrusion during deformation of the latch and to move away from the protrusion during expansion of the latch, and a distal end of the tab segment overlaps with a thickness of the protrusion.

  • Patent number: 11555623
Abstract: A firestat for providing an output for controlling an opening and closing of a fire/smoke damper. The firestat includes a fire/smoke damper test switch and an actuator configured to depress the fire/smoke damper test switch. The firestat is further configured to release the fire/smoke damper test switch in response to a depressing force applied to the actuator, wherein melting or other damage to the actuator causes a release of the test switch.

  • Publication number: 20220397300
Abstract: A damper inspection system for a heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) system includes a fuse link sensor configured to couple to a damper. The fuse link sensor includes a first contact and a second contact. The fuse link sensor is configured to transition between an engaged configuration in which the first contact is electrically coupled to the second contact and a disengaged configuration in which the first contact is electrically decoupled from the second contact. The damper inspection system includes a remote controller that includes control circuitry configured to electrically couple to the first contact and the second contact and to determine an operational status of a fuse link of the damper based on an electrical continuity between the first contact and the second contact.
