  • Patent number: 11890505
Abstract: Systems and methods for detecting gestures of a swimmer in an aquatic environment such as a flume pool. In one embodiment, a pool system includes a set of cameras, one of which is an overhead camera positioned above the water in the pool to capture images of a swimmer. The system also includes computer processors, such as a GPU, CPU, and game engine which implement a computer vision platform. The processors are configured to receive images from the cameras, determine the swimmer's body position from the images, detect a defined gesture in the swimmer's body position, and in response to detecting the defined gesture, invoking a corresponding control operation of the flume pool, such as controlling water flow through the pool or updating an interface display which is projected onto the interior surfaces of the pool.

  • Patent number: 8152635
Abstract: Providing content on a web site based on content in a game based. A wireless signal may be detected. Content in a game may be provided based on the detection of the wireless signal. The content may have been unavailable in the game prior to said detecting the wireless signal. For example, a characteristic of the wireless signal (e.g., an ID of a wireless signal from a wireless access point) may be determined and the content may be based on the characteristic of the wireless signal. Information regarding the content may be provided to one or more computer systems over a network, which may be configured to provide an indication of the content in the game on the web site based on the information.

  • Publication number: 20120058455
Abstract: A system and method for facilitating conversation. In particular, the system discloses a handheld device suitable for use in engaging conversation. The device includes a data store for storing a plurality of conversation starters. The plurality of conversation starters is associated with a theme. The device includes a selector that is associated with a subset of the plurality of conversation starters. The subset defines a category of conversation starters consistent with the theme. The device includes a processor configured to receive and acknowledge activation of the selector. Upon activation, the processor selects a conversation starter of the subset of the plurality of conversation starters, as a selected conversation starter. A communicator, such as a speaker, is included for presenting the selected conversation starter.
