  • Publication number: 20200222136
Abstract: The present invention teaches a robotically-assisted surgical system, method and apparatus capable of achieving access to areas of the brain both within and outside a direct line of sight. This is achieved through a relatively small skull access port that is of lesser invasion than some achieved in the prior art. A console spaced from a surgical patient is adapted to comfortably accommodate a surgeon, in a manner to achieve minimal stress during lengthy surgical procedures. Robotics interconnect the surgeon and surgical tools to be used, said tools being capable of entering and operating through a relatively small (20 mm) port in the patient's skull. Camera means comprising part of said surgical tools being interconnected to a monitor viewable by the surgeon. Means are provided which are controllable by the surgeon for gaining access to and manipulating portions of the patient's brain both within a direct line of sight and outside of said direct line of sight.

  • Publication number: 20200214775
Abstract: Disclosed herein are various robotic surgical systems having various robotic devices. Further, disclosed herein are removable coupleable connection ports, each of which can be coupled to a robotic device and a camera assembly that is disposed into and through the robotic device. Also disclosed herein are removable connection ports having at least one of a elongate device body coupling mechanism, a camera assembly coupling mechanism, and/or a presence detection mechanism. Further discussed herein is a camera assembly with at least one actuation mechanism for actuating movement of the steerable distal tip thereof.

  • Publication number: 20200150056
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to the inspection of pipes, and the like, and more particularly to the remote inspection of ferromagnetic pipes. The invention teaches apparatus comprising, in combination: a vehicle equipped with a plurality of wheels capable of propelling the vehicle within a predetermined ferromagnetic environment to be inspected; means for remotely applying drive forces to said wheels; said wheels including a plurality of passive non-driven rollers; said passive rollers including magnetized means; means for acquiring visual images of the condition of said pipes; and means for remotely accessing said visual images; thereby enabling remote inspection of said pipes. An immediate environment in which the use of the present invention is contemplated is in inspection of ferromagnetic pipes which are located above and/or below ground.
