Abstract: A wing having a winglet that provides a trailing-edge injection effect through a set of air outlets along the trailing-edge of the wing. The air flow is passively supplied by inlets formed at the leading edge of the wing that ingest air during flight, and directed to the outlets by ducts. The air flow may also be actively supplied by tapping into the engine bleed lines already in the wing of the aircraft. The trailing-edge injection effect reduces vortex drag, resulting in fuel savings in the operation of the aircraft.
