  • Patent number: 11913401
Abstract: An engine consumes fuel and air to generate an exhaust gas stream. An exhaust system channels the exhaust gas stream from the engine to a tailpipe. An aftertreatment system is included in the exhaust system and includes a catalyst. An exhaust throttle valve is disposed in the exhaust system downstream from the aftertreatment system. An actuator controls an amount of air pumped through the engine. A controller operates the exhaust throttle valve and/or the actuator to control emissions from the exhaust system during a cold start and following a deceleration fuel cutoff event.

  • Patent number: 9540645
Abstract: The present invention concerns methods and compositions for diagnosing and/or treating vascular diseases including cancer, cardiac diseases, vascular diseases of the eye, and inflammatory diseases. The methods involve measuring the levels of one or multiple miRNAs in patient samples and using the test results to diagnose and/or predict an optimal treatment regimen for the patient. Compositions described in the invention include nucleic acids that function as miRNAs or miRNA inhibitors that can be introduced to a patient to reduce or increase vascularization as needed.

  • Patent number: 9244838
Abstract: A system, method, and computer-readable medium for grouping of database object access counts per processing module in a parallel processing system. Each processing module manages an intermediate cache allocated thereto that stores database object access counts local to the respective processing module. The processing modules are configured in a hierarchical configuration. The intermediate caches managed by the processing modules at the lowest level of the configuration are forwarded to a parent processing module and merged with the intermediate cache allocated to the parent processing module. A root processing module merges the intermediate caches received from one or more parent processing modules with the root processing module's intermediate cache to generate a final cache. An objects access count data structure is then generated by the root processing module.
