  • Publication number: 20180000179
Abstract: A method and a device are disclosed including a face mask with a display configured to show downloaded images. The mask may include a display controller to convert a format of an image to a mask-format to allow display on the irregular shaped and possibly segmented display areas of the mask, and also perform other image processing and display functions such as pixel mapping and separate image coordination. The display controller may break up a single image into multiple sub-images to display on multiple display areas on the mask. One or more cameras may be deployed on the mask to acquire images, such as a facial image of someone else and display it on the mask, in effect, acting like an electronic mirror. The images displayed on the mask may be downloaded and controlled from an app on a mobile device such as a smartphone.

  • Publication number: 20130131897
Abstract: A system and method for reporting unusual aircraft attitude to a pilot includes sensing aircraft attitude, and processing the sensed aircraft attitude to determine when the aircraft attitude exceeds an attitude limit. A three-dimensional directional audio alert is generated that, when heard by the pilot, sounds like it is coming from a direction to which the pilot should maneuver the aircraft to correct the aircraft attitude, and includes a verbal instruction that the pilot should follow correct the aircraft attitude.

  • Publication number: 20130048883
Abstract: A treatment safety device is operable by a computer-based treatment safety module to prevent, by at least one of an operational interlock and a warning indicator, a medical treatment unless the treatment safety module determines that predetermined treatment verification criteria are met. The treatment safety device can tie into an existing operational interlock, such as an electrical door interlock. In a radiation oncology application, the treatment safety module verification criteria can include a satisfactory correspondence between elements of a pending treatment and an intended treatment.

  • Publication number: 20090271275
Abstract: Tools for improving interactions between promoters and consumers of products. These tools can enable promoters of products to employ more effective promotional programs, and consumers to receive promotional information about products of interest, while avoiding the excessive overload of information about promotions that are not of interest. Some such tools can enhance consumer satisfaction with—and, correspondingly, consumer participation in—promotional programs by allowing consumers to tailor the discount programs to their preferences, by analyzing consumer behavior and tailoring promotions accordingly, and/or by providing cross promotions of complementary products. Some of the tools can provide substantial savings, in both costs and natural resources, as well as provide a more satisfying experience for consumers, by substantially reducing, or even eliminating, excessive use of paper for promotional programs and transaction receipts.

  • Publication number: 20070035897
Abstract: A circuit for inhibiting a protection device of a motor includes first, second, and third comparators and an inhibit signal generator. The first comparator is operable to determine if a motor current signal associated with the motor exceeds a starting threshold to identify a starting state of the motor. The second comparator is operable to determine if the motor current signal exceeds an inrush threshold to identify a transition from the starting state to an inrush state of the motor. The third comparator is operable to determine if the motor current signal falls below a running threshold to identify a transition from the inrush state to a running state of the motor. The inhibit signal generator is operable to deassert an inhibit signal for inhibiting the protection device responsive to the third comparator identifying the running state.

  • Publication number: 20060145009
Abstract: A ballistic and/or fire barrier for protecting objects in an interior of a vehicle due to projectile penetration and/or fire includes one or more layers of high strength fabric positioned towards an outer shell of the vehicle. The high strength fabric is substantially fixedly or fixedly positioned with respect to the outer shell of the vehicle. In another embodiment, the ballistic and/or fire barrier protects objects in a structure from damage due to projectile penetration. The ballistic and/or fire barrier includes at least one layer of high strength fabric positioned towards an outer housing of the structure. The high strength fabric is substantially fixedly positioned with respect to the structure towards either the inner or outer surface of the outer housing. In another embodiment of the present invention, a ballistic barrier protects a wearer of the ballistic barrier from damage due to projectile penetration.

  • Publication number: 20060095619
Abstract: A system and method for enabling users and developers to store data on a number of different types of local and remote devices connected to a multimedia console or a gaming console. The range of available storage devices creates issues that are addressed to avoid apparent inconsistencies in storage performance (e.g. latency). A consistent method of reading and writing data is provided such that end users and developers do not have to be concerned with restrictions and limitations inherent to various devices.
