  • Patent number: 8706516
Abstract: A system and method to manage progression of patients through a workflow of events that employs at least one resource in delivering healthcare is provided. The system comprises a sensor operable to track at least one property of the plurality of patients, and at least one processor in communication with the sensor. The processor is operable to execute computer readable program instructions generally representative of the steps of calculating a bid of the more than one of the series of patients relative to one another directed to a slot in a schedule of utilization of the at least one resource dependent on tracked data of the at least one property of the more than one of the series of patients, and assigning one of the patients to the slot in the schedule of the at least one resource dependent on a comparison of the bids.

    Assignee: General Electric Company
Inventors: Adrian Warner, Crispian Sievenpiper, Jeffrey Solliday-McRoy
  • Patent number: 8612254
Abstract: A system and method to manage a quality of delivery of healthcare to a patient. The method includes tracking completion of a portion of a protocol associated with one of a series of candidate hypotheses to deliver healthcare to the patient; tracking a change in a quality of care metric directed to the patient with completion of a portion the protocol, the quality of metric including at least one of a time to rate of reduction in a health risk to the patient and a time to or rate of reduction in symptom or abnormal biometric data of the patient; and outputting an alert in response to the quality of care metric exceeding a threshold.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 1, 2012
Date of Patent: December 17, 2013
    Assignee: General Electric Company

  • Publication number: 20120016691
Abstract: An automated patient care resource allocation and medical workflow system includes an agent with a memory in communication with a processor. The memory includes program instructions for execution by the processor to determine a need for a medical resource by a patient, determine a location and availability of the medical resource, and automatically schedule an available medical resource to the patient.
