  • Publication number: 20240368940
Abstract: A method implemented in an architectural covering. The method includes transmitting a first drive instruction to drive a motor in a first direction while the motor is in an engaged state, wherein driving the motor in the first direction causes the covering to move. The method further includes determining the motor is to terminate an operation. The method further includes transmitting a termination instruction to the motor to terminate the operation. The method further includes determining a first position of the motor. The method further includes transmitting a second drive instruction to drive the motor in a second direction opposite the first direction from the first position to a second position, causing the motor to enter a disengaged state, wherein driving the motor in the second direction does not cause the covering to move.

  • Publication number: 20240301925
Abstract: In some examples, an insert assembly includes an insert, a rivet, and a washer configured to position on a brake disc. The insert is configured to position within a disc slot of the brake disc. The rivet shank is configured extend through a washer hole of the washer and a rivet slot of the insert to secure the insert to the brake disc. The washer is configured to be positioned between the insert and a rivet head of the rivet when the rivet shank extends into the brake disc. The rivet slot is configured to allow for the motion of the insert relative to the rivet in the tangential direction when torque is imparted through the disc slot via the insert. In some examples, the rivet is a solid rivet. In some examples, the rivet head is an orbitally riveted head fabricated using an orbital riveting tool.

  • Patent number: 12084916
Abstract: A method implemented in an architectural covering. The method comprising powering down, prior to transitioning to a sleep mode, a position tracking device configured to generate output data indicating a position of at least one of a covering or a motor. The method further comprising transitioning from an operational mode to the sleep mode, the sleep mode associated with a lower power consumption than the operational mode. The method further comprising exiting the sleep mode based on a trigger and powering up, after exiting the sleep mode, the position tracking device. The method further comprising receiving the output data from the position tracking device. The method further comprising determining whether the position has changed since the transitioning to the sleep mode. The method further comprising continuing to operate outside of the sleep mode if the position has changed, or returning to the sleep mode if the position has not changed.

  • Publication number: 20220074266
Abstract: Methods and apparatus to operate a covering of an architectural covering are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a clutch to disengage a motor when the motor is not in use. The dual control architectural covering further includes a clutch to disengage a motor from moving a covering to facilitate manual operation of the covering of an architectural covering when the motor is not in use; and a controller: to track a covering position based on a first encoder measurement from a first encoder; and to track a motor position when the motor disengages based on a second encoder measurement from a second encoder different from the first encoder.

  • Publication number: 20060074348
Abstract: A blood sampling device having a valve between a chamber for receiving a limited quantity of fluid and a needle for penetrating a sample bottle. The valve comprises a rigid connector with a compressible tube extending along a beam and an arm extending across tube and the beam such that the tube can be compressed between the beam and the arm. A bottle adapter connected to the valve has an elongated or ovoid base. A needle is enclosed within the bottle adapter. Within the bottle adapter are longitudinally extending fins. A removable needle cap over the needle is held in place by a lid. Another bottle adapter has a wall deformable from a first configuration into a second configuration. The bottle adaptor may be removable and may have a slot such that the needle and the needle cap can be inserted into the bottle adaptor through the slot.

  • Patent number: 5785122
Abstract: A well screen for placement within wells used to filter out impurities from the fluid entering the well. In the preferred embodiment, the well screen comprises a spirally-wound wire forming a cylinder with gaps between the layers of wire. The layers of wire are attached by spacers placed within the gaps and on the surfaces of the wire such that the spacers do not extend radially beyond the inner and outer edges of the wire, and thus, forming a flush inner and outer well screen surface. The outer edge of the spacer can be slightly recessed from the outer edge of the wire to create greater open area for which fluid can flow through. In the alternate embodiment, the well screen comprises a plurality of rings stacked atop each other and connected together by spacers located at intervals around the circumference of the rings. The spacers are attached to the wire or rings by a secure means such as welding which results in a single unitized screen that is structurally rigid.
