  • Publication number: 20220273313
Abstract: A device and method for occluding the descending aorta includes inserting a gastroesophageal resuscitative aortic occlusion device into a stomach of a patient through the esophagus. The gastroesophageal resuscitative aortic occlusion device includes a catheter having a body and a first lumen, and a distal end having a first opening fluidly coupled to the first lumen. An inflatable balloon is disposed on the catheter. An interior of the inflatable balloon is fluidly coupled to the first opening. An inflation device is operably connected to the catheter and fluidly coupled to the first lumen. Activation of the inflation device forces fluid into the interior of the inflatable balloon through the first lumen and the first opening. Activating the inflation device to pressurizes the inflatable balloon with a fluid. An external pressure device applies pressure to the abdomen of the patient until blood flow through the descending aorta is reduced or stopped.

  • Publication number: 20220126014
Abstract: A device for wound irrigation and debridement includes a body extending along a longitudinal axis. The body comprises an interior region and an opening such that that the interior region and the first opening are configured to transfer an irrigation fluid. The body comprises a compliant region having a first stiffness and a debridement region having a different second stiffness. The compliant region defines a distal surface. In a first configuration, the compliant region defines a first axial dimension, the distal surface engages a target body region, and the debridement region is axially offset from the distal surface and disengaged from the target body region. In a second configuration, the compliant region is compressed to define a second axial dimension less than the first axial dimension, thereby engaging the debridement region with the target body region, and the distal surface engages the target body region.

  • Publication number: 20220103351
Abstract: Cryptographic techniques are provided for generating, distributing, validation, and processing secure commands on different devices and/or peripherals. A control device generates and encrypts a key corresponding to a secure command using a private key of control device to produce a key envelope. Control device further encrypts the key envelope with a recipient's public key producing a recipient envelope. The recipient envelope is delivered to a recipient's device. The recipient's device decrypts the recipient envelope with a private key of the recipient's device producing the key envelope. The key envelope is delivered back to the control device. The control device decrypts the key envelope producing the key, validates the key, and processes a secure command on behalf of a secure resource or delivers the secure command to the secure resource for processing. In an embodiment, control device maintains audit records/audit trail, which is maintained on the control device.

  • Publication number: 20220071478
Abstract: A method and apparatus for testing the integrity of an anastomosis of a bodily lumen includes a multi-lumen tubular body having a first balloon that can be positioned proximally of an anastomosis, a second balloon that can be positioned distally of the anastomosis, and an aperture on the tubular body intermediate the first and second balloons. Once the first and second balloons are inflated, they define, in concert with the surrounding bodily lumen, a region that can be used to observe integrity of the anastomosis prior to conclusion of surgery. A fluid, such as air, is introduced through the aperture to the testing region, and a camera and lights provided on the instrument facilitate observation of any behavior of the fluid indicative of leaks in the anastomosis.

  • Publication number: 20220067759
Abstract: A method for detecting an abnormality in a flow system includes obtaining, with a processor, input flow data for the flow system over a series of time intervals, sequentially processing, with the processor, the input flow data to generate, for each time interval in the series of time intervals, flow feature data, the flow feature data being representative of a plurality of flow parameters for the input flow data at the time interval in the series of time intervals, applying, with the processor, the flow feature data to a machine learning tool, the machine learning tool being configured to provide an assessment, for each time interval in the series of time intervals, of whether the input flow data is indicative of the abnormality being present in a following time interval in the series of time intervals, and providing, with the processor, output data indicative of the assessment.
