    Abstract: A seat assembly secured to the floor of an automotive vehicle includes a generally horizontal seat cushion movable between a seating position spaced above the vehicle floor and a stowed position resting against the vehicle floor. A riser is operatively coupled to the seat cushion for supporting the seat cushion in each of the seating and stowed positions. A seat back is pivotally coupled to the riser for movement between a generally upright seating position and a folded position in overlapping relationship with the seat cushion. A slide mechanism is coupled between the riser and the seat cushion for slidably articulating the seat cushion along the riser between the seating position and the stowed position. A first link arm is coupled between the seat back and the seat cushion for automatically controlling the sliding articulation of the seat cushion between the seating and stowed positions in response to pivotal movement of the seat back between the upright seating position and the folded position.

    Abstract: A child restraint seat assembly integral with a passenger seat in a vehicle. The child seat includes a back support constructed and arranged to support a torso of a child in a seated posture. A bottom support is pivotally mounted to the back support and moveable between a stowed position and a deployed position for supporting the child in the seated posture when in the deployed position. A pair of shoulder belts extend over the back support and are constructed and arranged to secure the torso of the child to the back support. A pair of lap belts extend over the bottom support and are constructed and arranged to secure a lap region of the child. A crotch belt is integrally connected to the lap belts and extends upwardly from the bottom support for locking engagement with the shoulder belts.

    Abstract: A seat assembly including an integrated child seat assembly for a motor vehicle comprises a seat frame including a seat cushion frame and a seat back frame. A cushion assembly is mounted on the seat frame assembly and includes a movable cushion construction mounted for movement between (1) an adult position wherein the cushion assembly including the movable cushion construction provides an adult seat cushion and a cushioned adult seat back for engaging the back of an adult sitting on the adult seat cushion, and (2) a child position wherein the cushion assembly including the movable cushion construction provides a child's seat and a cushioned child's seat back. An adult seat belt assembly is mounted with respect to the seat assembly, and a child's seat belt assembly is provided with the integrated child's seat assembly.

The seat back cushion assembly includes a movable cushion assembly mounted on the seat back frame assembly and being movable between (1) an adult mode position wherein the movable cushion assembly provides an adult seat back and (2) a child mode position wherein the movable cushion assembly provides a child's seat disposed in overlying relation with the seat cushion.

    Abstract: A child seat module integrated with a rear vehicle seat, and including fold-down lower and upper segments, interconnected by a flexible and detachable hinge, and a plastic back panel mounted against the back frame of the bench seat. A plastic seat pad support platform is mounted on the inner surface of the lower segment. A pad having seat and back segments is removably mounted on the platform and against the back panel. A safety belt system is operably included in the module. The interconnected lower and upper segments are adapted to being folded down to form, with the platform and pad, a child seat cushion and leg support. Alternatively, the leg support may be removed for a child whose size is such that use of the leg support would be uncomfortable.
