The bicycle transport components may be in the form of at least one transport component that comes into contact with at least some of the portions of a bicycle that would otherwise contact a surface when a bicycle is placed on its side. The transport component has a contact surface with a lower coefficient of friction that permits the transport component with a bicycle thereon to be slid along the inside surface of a vehicle. In other cases, the bicycle carriers may include a combination, or assembly of components that provide a system for transporting two or more bicycles in the interior of a vehicle. Methods of transporting bicycles in a vehicle are also disclosed.

In one embodiment, the cross-section of the exterior of the shaft along an intermediate portion of the shaft between the butt end and the tip end is non-circular. In this embodiment, the cross-section of the exterior of the shaft at the end regions containing the butt and tip ends of the shaft may be circular. The cross-section of the intermediate portion may be any suitable shape, such as a symmetrical shape. In one version of such an embodiment, the cross-section of the exterior of the shaft along an intermediate portion of the shaft is substantially triangular in configuration.

The perimeter weighted golf clubs of the present invention are provided with improved structures for distributing the weight at the perimeter of the club head. In one embodiment, the club head has a club face with a hitting surface and a spacer outboard of the hitting surface which connects the hitting surface and the weighted perimeter of the club head. The spacer can be any suitable structure, such as a thinned portion or a lighter weight portion of the club head. In another embodiment, the club head has a tubular frame which surrounds and supports at least a portion of the hitting surface. In these or other embodiments, the club head can have a structure that facilitates the desired rotation of the club face when the club is swung.
