Abstract: An absorbent article, such as a sanitary napkin, having flaps and at least one fold or pleat in the sanitary napkin is disclosed. A sanitary napkin having a longitudinally oriented barrier along each of the flaps is also disclosed. In several embodiments, the flaps are formed by an extension of the topsheet and backsheet of the sanitary napkin. In at least one embodiment, the flaps are joined to the garment-facing side of the sanitary napkin between the longitudinal side edge of the main body portion and the longitudinal side edge of the absorbent core of the sanitary napkin. In other embodiments, the flaps may have a portion that is folded inwardly under the garment-facing side of the sanitary napkin and joined to another portion of the same flap. In some embodiments, the flaps have a pleat therein which includes at least one generally longitudinally-oriented fold line, and the pleat is restrained from unfolding.

Abstract: Improved perimeter weighted golf clubs are disclosed. The perimeter weighted golf clubs of the present invention are provided with improved structures for distributing the weight at the perimeter of the club head. In one embodiment, the club head has a club face with a hitting surface and a spacer outboard of the hitting surface which connects the hitting surface and the weighted perimeter of the club head. The spacer can be any suitable structure, such as a thinned portion or a lighter weight portion of the club head. In another embodiment, the club head has a tubular frame which surrounds and supports at least a portion of the hitting surface. In these or other embodiments, the club head can have a structure that facilitates the desired rotation of the club face when the club is swung.

Abstract: Absorbent articles such as sanitary napkins, panty liners, adult incontinence devices, and the like, which have flaps are disclosed. The absorbent articles have flaps with a step configuration. The absorbent articles may also have a deformed hinge that is located between at least a portion of the main body portion of the absorbent article and the flaps, and zones of extensibility for relieving the stresses that develop in the flaps when the flaps are folded down and under a wearer's undergarment.

Abstract: An improved aerodynamic golf club shaft is disclosed. The improved aerodynamic golf club shaft comprises a tube that has an exterior with a non-circular cross section. The golf club shaft may have an elliptical exterior cross section in one preferred embodiment. The golf club shaft has a leading edge that is on the half of the shaft aligned with the face of the golf club and a trailing edge on the half of the shaft aligned with the back of the club. A portion of the leading edge of the shaft has a smaller radius of curvature than the leading edge of a equivalently sized shaft having a circular cross section.

In embodiments where there is a region of reduced thickness, at least a portion of at least some of the ribs may span the region of reduced thickness.

The absorbent articles having side flaps are provided with gathered portions that can expand to relieve stresses on the flaps when the flaps are wrapped around the curved side edges of a wearer's undergarment. A releasable wrapper is also disclosed which covers adhesive fasteners on the garment-facing side of said absorbent article and provides an individual package for the sanitary napkin.
