The hand-held device includes at least one processor to determine a machine-readable identification code from the product identification indicia; send the identification code to at least one remote server; receive, from the at least one remote server, video data that is associated with the product. The video data is reproducible on a video display apparatus to produce a human-viewable video showing at least one aspect of the production of the food product.

The agricultural product data, as contained within the record, is then communicated to a user responsive to the request. The communication of the request, and the response, may be performed via the Internet as web-based communications.
