Publication number: 20240078933Abstract: A sign having a display section and a support member that can be removably secured to the display section. The support may be secured within a pocket or receptacle formed in the display section. The pocket may be created in the display section by portions of adhesive, including hot melt adhesive and pressure sensitive adhesive. The pocket allows a smaller support member than conventional wire frames while holding the display section above the ground at a height similar to conventional frames.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 9, 2023Publication date: March 7, 2024Applicant: Gill Studios, Inc.Inventors: Jeffrey W. Patent number: 11875710Abstract: A sign having a display section formed from two pliable sheets and a frame assembly having members joined by various connector pieces. The connector pieces may include couplers and corner pieces. The connector pieces may be used to construct the frame assembly. The connector pieces may also be used to stow the frame assembly when the sign is not in use or being packaged for shipment and also during shipment. For example, the connector pieces may cover the ends of frame assembly members to keep them organized and to keep the members from piercing packaging or other parts of the sign.Type: GrantFiled: April 27, 2022Date of Patent: January 16, 2024Assignee: Gill Studios, Inc.Inventor: Jeffrey W. Publication number: 20090119961Abstract: A compact yard sign package reinforced by a folded bail includes a sign member formed by a rectangular sheet folded at a fold line to form a sign member including pair of sign panels, side edge regions of the sign panels being joined to form a bail receiving pocket between the sign panels. A hand bendable wire bail is formed by a straight bridge section with legs extending from ends of the bridge at right angles. Outer sections of the legs are bent at right angles to inner sections of the legs to form a folded bail. The folded bail is positioned in the pocket of the sign member to reinforce the sign member during shipping. An end use removes the bail from the pocket and straightens the legs out prior to inserting ends of the legs into the ground to set up the sign assembly.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 9, 2007Publication date: May 14, 2009Inventor: Jeffrey W. Patent number: 7367147Abstract: A single pass process and apparatus for manufacturing a folded yard sign from a pre-cut sheet previously coated on both sides with a fusible polymer includes the steps of printing an image on an outside of the sheet, curing the image, scoring the printed sheet, folding the scored sheet, ultrasonically sealing regions along side edges of the folded sheet, and stacking the sealed sheets, which are finished sign products ready for packaging. The ultrasonic sealing fuses the polymer coated inside surfaces along the edges of the folded sheet. The sealed side edges form a sign support receiving pocket in the finished sign member in cooperation with a folded edge of the sign member.Type: GrantFiled: August 31, 2006Date of Patent: May 6, 2008Assignee: Gil Studios, Inc.Inventor: Jeffrey W. Patent number: 5878504Abstract: A rifle scope vertical alignment apparatus includes first and second plates, each with a bottom surface shaped as an inverted V. A vertically oriented elongate slot is formed in one of the first and second plates and a receiving channel is formed in one of the first and second plates to slidably engage the other of the first and second plates. A level is positioned on one of the first and second plates such that it is visible from a rear surface of the apparatus. A threaded screw extends through the slot and into a threaded bore on the other of the first and second plates so that the plates can be held in a selected position relative to each other with the inverted V bottom surfaces aligned. The alignment method involves positioning the inverted bottom V of the first plate of the alignment apparatus atop the rifle barrel just in front of the objective end of the scope, placing the inverted V bottom surface of the second plate atop the scope barrel and then tightening the threaded screw.Type: GrantFiled: September 9, 1997Date of Patent: March 9, 1999Inventor: Jeffrey W. Patent number: 5067265Abstract: A badge having an attachment assembly for securing to wearing apparel, paramagnetic surfaces or the like includes a pin, clip or magnetic mounting assembly secured to the badge. The attachment assembly is mounted on a central post to facilitate automated placement of the mounting assembly on the post. A latching pin mechanism for use as the attachment assembly includes a loop for mounting on the central post and spring biased pin offset from the loop to allow the badge to hang appropriately even though supported by the central post. Alternative embodiments utilize a magnet, slide-on clip or biased jaw alligator clip as the attachment assembly.Type: GrantFiled: May 23, 1990Date of Patent: November 26, 1991Assignee: Gill Studios, Inc.Inventor: Jeffrey W. Patent number: 4627608Abstract: A vacuum take-off conveyor is used to transfer a printed sheet from a delivery conveyor to a sheet stacking apparatus. The vacuum conveyor has a vacuum chamber structure with an inner chamber. A vacuum source is connected to the chamber structure, near a first end thereof, and operates to create a pressure differential between the chamber and the surrounding atmosphere. The chamber structure is provided with longitudinal slots in a bottom wall to provide air communication from the atmosphere into the chamber. An endless foraminous belt is received onto the chamber structure to form a continuous loop from the first end to a second end thereof, and is rotated by a drive pulley. A damper, such as an adjustable damper plate, is situated within the chamber so as to produce a high vacuum region near the vacuum source between the damper plate and the first end of the chamber structure, and a low vacuum region between the damper plate and the chamber structure second end.Type: GrantFiled: May 1, 1985Date of Patent: December 9, 1986Assignee: Gill Studios, Inc.Inventor: Jeffrey W.
