  • Patent number: 9446532
Abstract: A magnetic knife wedge attachment for use with a knife has a spine-mounting portion carrying a permanent magnet adapted to be placed in magnetic contact on the spine of the knife blade, and a blade-mounting portion carrying another permanent magnet forming an L-shaped cross-section with the spine-mounting portion and adapted for magnetic attachment to the side surface of the knife blade. The blade-mounting portion has beveled surfaces tapering to sharp edges so as to form a wedge shape around the edges of the blade-mounting portion for forcing cut food material to tilt outward to prevent adhesion of the cut material to the knife blade. By its magnetic attachment onto two contiguous portions of the metal knife blade, the wedge device provides magnetic strength and holding forces to remain locked onto the knife blade during use for cutting food material.

  • Patent number: 9352475
Abstract: A magnetic knife blade wiper, for use with knives of standard types and sizes, has a pair of wiper blades spaced apart in parallel to fit onto the side surfaces of a knife blade. A device housing is attached to upper ends of the pair of wiper blades and has a permanent magnet carried in a cavity therein for holding the wiper magnetically on the spine of the knife blade. The wiper can be moved along the blade toward the knifepoint to wipe off any food debris on the side surfaces of the blade. The wiper blade length is sized to be less than the height of the blade so that the wiper can remain in position proximate the hilt of the knife without interfering with cutting operations. The wiper blades have a thin profile so that, when positioned proximate the hilt of the knife, they do not project beyond the girth of the knife in order not to interfere with the user's sightlines or cutting operations.

  • Publication number: 20130174338
Abstract: A system for controlling the duration and volume of a flow of water in a flush of a Toilet has a converting element, for converting the normally buoyant flush valve to a non-buoyant flush valve. A programming element enables programming of a controlling time for the flush duration and volume of water. A controlling element connects the programming element to the non-buoyant flush valve, for retaining it in a raised open position upon user actuation, and for releasing it to close the flush valve within the controlling time. In a preferred embodiment, the controlling element is mounted to the exterior wall of the toilet tank and has a connecting element connected to the flush actuator outside the tank which is connected to the flush lever and to the non-buoyant flush valve within the tank.
