  • Publication number: 20100015620
Abstract: Sets of biomarker genes useful for monitoring exposure and response to anti-tumor agents that inhibit IMPDH and related biomolecules are disclosed along with methods for identifying such sets of genes, methods of using such sets to identify additional therapeutic agents as well as methods for stratifying patients into groups that are sensitive or resistant to such therapeutic agents. Methods of screening patients for recurrence of disease by monitoring changes in gene expression associated with malignancy are also described. The nucleotide sequence of such biomarkers are presented.

  • Publication number: 20080305493
Abstract: Methods for identifying antineoplastic agents by using their ability to modify expression of specific genes or the biological activity of polypeptides encoded by such genes, wherein said genes are located in specific chromosomal regions, called amplicons, or regions of interest, and the presence of such amplified regions within a cancerous cell, are disclosed. Also described are methods for diagnosing cancerous, or potentially cancerous, conditions using these methods. Also encompassed are methods involving determining the modulated expression of the genes in these regions of interest (ROIs), or amplicons, as pharmacodynamic/pharmacogenetic/surrogate markers and/or for patient profiling prior to accrual for clinical trials/treatments based on the identification of these genes as validated gene/drug targets in various cancer tissue types.

  • Publication number: 20040002091
Abstract: Cancer-linked gene sequences, and derived amino acid sequences, are disclosed along with processes for assaying potential antitumor agents based on their modulation of the expression of these cancer-linked genes. Also disclosed are antibodies that react with the disclosed polypeptides and methods of using the antibodies to treat cancerous conditions, such as by using the antibody to target cancerous cells in vivo for purposes of delivering therapeutic agents thereto. Also described are methods of diagnosis using the gene sequences.
