  • Publication number: 20240215873
Abstract: A device for measuring one or more analytes in a sample fluid is provided. The device includes at least one aptamer sensor comprising a plurality of aptamers. The sensor provides a measurement of at least one of the analytes. In addition, the measurement is affected by changes in temperature (“a temperature-dependent response”). The device also includes a means to establish fluid communication between the at least one aptamer sensor and the sample fluid. Further, the device includes at least one temperature sensor and a means for correcting a measurement error due to the temperature-dependent response.

  • Patent number: 11562384
Abstract: This disclosure covers methods, systems, and computer-readable media that select answer choices from potential answer choices for a digital question based on responses to other digital questions and/or embedded user data. In certain embodiments, the disclosed systems select answer choices from potential answer choices for a digital question based on a multiple choice response. Furthermore, in some embodiments, the disclosed systems select answer choices from potential answer choices for a digital question based on keywords and/or sentiment values identified by analyzing a text response. In some embodiments, the disclosed systems select answer choices for a digital question from a dynamic choice reference dataset that comprises potential answer choices. Additionally, in one or more embodiments, the disclosed systems train and/or utilize a machine-learning model to select answer choices from potential answer choices for a digital question based on a response.

  • Publication number: 20210097208
Abstract: A technique allows a user to project content onto a shared display region in a controlled manner. The technique involves receiving context information that describes a context in which a user is currently interacting with a local user computing device. The technique then determines, based on policy logic and the context information, whether it is appropriate to invoke a private state, or to remove the private state and enter a shared state. The private state involves presenting a privacy screen on one or more shared display regions. The local user computing device remains connected to the display device(s) that host the shared display region(s) while operating in both the private state and the shared state. According to one advantage, the technique eliminates or reduces the risk that the user will inadvertently release private information to others; further, it does so without asking the user to perform burdensome preparatory actions.

  • Patent number: 10915334
Abstract: A multi-user aware (“MUA”) computing device, such a communal computing device like an interactive digital whiteboard, can enforce role-based constraints on the modification of components, such as configuration settings. The MUA computing device can be configured with universal settings, global settings, and temporal settings. Universal settings cannot be changed by users of the MUA computing device. Device owners can change global settings that apply to all users of a MUA computing device. All users of the MUA computing device can change temporal settings. Changes to temporal settings are stored in profiles associated with authenticated users but are not persisted for guest users. When all users have stopped using the MUA computing device, the device can be configured with default values for the temporal settings in order to return the device to a known state.

  • Publication number: 20210035132
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a response prediction system that intelligently optimizes the quality of responses to a survey by predicting response quality and generating suggested changes (e.g., improving question ordering, question phrasing, question type, etc.). For example, in one or more embodiments, the response prediction system predicts response quality based on extracted survey characteristics. The response prediction system uses the predicted response quality to generate suggested changes before publishing the survey. Additionally, the response prediction system collects feedback by analyzing responses after the survey has been published to update suggested changes specific to the survey.

  • Patent number: 10751086
Abstract: A cannula assembly for use in laproscopic surgery includes a cannula having a proximal end for use in orientating the assembly into an abdominal cavity, a distal end for insertion into a patient, and a passage through which surgical instruments can be inserted. An expandable feature in the form of an anchor is located toward the distal end of the cannula and is selectively expandable and collapsible. The feature in its expanded state prevents withdrawal of the cannula. A collar is pushed distally until it releasably cinches to the outside of the abdominal cavity thereby creating an airtight seal and stabilizing the assembly. The collar has a friction fit with the cannula designed to prevent excessive force against the cavity walls.

  • Publication number: 20170341008
Abstract: A device and method for producing a reformate fuel from a hydrocarbon gas source. The invention enables the conversion of a dilute hydrocarbon gas into a more easily consumable reformate fuel. Gases having low concentrations of hydrocarbons are concentrated using a concentrator into a gaseous or liquid concentrated VOC fuel. The concentrated VOC fuel is then converted into a reformate using a reformer. The reformate is more easily consumed by an energy conversion device such as a combustion engine, fuel cell, sterling engine or similar device that converts chemical energy into kinetic or electrical energy. The reformer enables complex hydrocarbon fuels that are not normally suitable for use in an energy conversion device to be converted into a reformate. The reformate may be directly supplied into the energy conversion device.
