  • Publication number: 20110091396
Abstract: A sunless tanning composition is provided with from 0.1 to 40% of a C1-C24 alpha-hydroxyaldehyde and from 0.1 to 15% of hydrophobic droplets, the droplets including from 80 to 99.9% of a lipophilic substance and from 0.01 to 3% of a particulate colorant dispersed within the lipophilic substance, and wherein upon initial application to an area of skin the droplets appear aesthetically displeasingly grey/black which upon being rubbed into the skin dissipates the aesthetically displeasing grey/black appearance and concurrently assures sufficient rub-in of the alpha-hydroxyaldehyde to evenly and penetratingly interact with the area of skin.

  • Patent number: 7695726
Abstract: A cosmetic composition is provided which includes a crosslinked silicone elastomer, a zinc oxide or zirconium oxide of average particle size less than 300 nm and a light reflecting inorganic material of platelet shaped particles having an average particle size of about 10,000 to about 30,000 nm, in a cosmetically acceptable carrier system. The composition achieves soft focus and radiance properties which improve the appearance of skin. Good coverage over imperfections such as pores and uneven skin tone is achieved while retaining a natural skin appearance.

  • Patent number: 7175835
Abstract: A cosmetic water-in-oil composition is provided which includes a water-in-oil emulsifying silicone surfactant, an ultrafine titanium dioxide and conjugated linoleic acid. The presence of conjugated linoleic acid stabilizes the composition against color degradation and also maintains an approximately steady viscosity.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 23, 2005
Date of Patent: February 13, 2007
    Assignee: Conopco, Inc.
Inventors: Sofia Simoulidis, Jeffrey William Rosevear, Brian John Dobkowski
  • Patent number: 7172754
Abstract: A cosmetic water-in-oil composition is provided which includes a water-in-oil emulsifying silicone surfactant, organic sunscreen agent and conjugated linoleic acid. The conjugated linoleic acid functions to moderate shine on facial surfaces to which the organic sunscreen agent formulated composition is topically applied.
