Abstract: A method of triggering an action includes: determining that a mobile device is under water by: determining that an amplitude of a satellite positioning system (SPS) signal, or a wireless communication signal, or a combination thereof, received by the mobile device is below a threshold amplitude; or comparing data from a motion sensor of the mobile device with motion sensor data characteristic of entering water; or a combination thereof; determining that the mobile device has an action-inducing relationship to water; and taking the action in response to determining that the mobile device has the action-inducing relationship to water.

Abstract: Techniques are provided for dynamically generating content. A request for content about a first entity is received from a client device. In response to receiving the request, an identity of a second entity of the client device is determined. Based on the identity, attributes of the second entity are identified. It is determined whether the attributes satisfy targeting criteria of a campaign that was initiated by the first entity. In response to determining that the attributes satisfy the targeting criteria, a first number of entities that (i) share one or more attributes in common with the second entity and (ii) satisfy the targeting criteria is determined. Also, a second number of entities that share the one or more attributes in common with the second entity is determined. A ratio is calculated based on the two numbers. First content that specifies the ratio is sent to the client device for display.

Abstract: A method and a system that identify content within a network-based system are provided. The method and system may operate to receive a request including an identification from a device of a user, assign a matching identification entry to the identification or to the user using the identification and a set of identification entries comprising the matching identification entry, and transmit the matching identification entry to an identification module configured to identify at least one content for display on a content page using the matching identification entry.

Abstract: A system and method for contemporaneous printing of a document along with content obtained from a network, in accordance with embedded network address information, includes a print engine, a network interface and an intelligent controller. An electronic document is parsed to identify at least one embedded network addresses. Content associated with each embedded network address is obtained from a network and printed contemporaneously with the original document. Separator pages preceding content obtained from the network are generated and include the network address from which content that follows was obtained, along with a page number in the original document where the address appeared.

Abstract: A large radius probe for a surface analysis instrument such as an atomic force microscope (AFM). The probe is microfabricated to have a tip with a hemispherical distal end or apex. The radius of the apex is the range of about a micron making the probes particularly useful for nanoindentation analyses. The processes of the preferred embodiments allow such large radius probes to be batch fabricated to facilitate cost and robustness.

Abstract: A system and method for interrupting printing of low quality documents includes an MFP having an intelligent controller including a processor and associated memory, and scan and print engines operable in conjunction with instructions issued from the controller. A network interface receives print job data from an associated device and stores it in memory along with print quality rule data corresponding to acceptable print job output appearance parameters. The controller commences a print of received print job data and a scan of printed print job data. The controller selectively aborts printing of the print job data in accordance with the scan data and the print quality rule data.

Abstract: The technology disclosed herein enables a conferencing client operated by a meeting organizer to present the meeting organizer with information about the impact of extending a meeting past its scheduled end time. In a particular embodiment, a method provides, in a conferencing server, establishing a conferencing session for the meeting with an organizer conferencing client operated by the organizer. During the meeting, the method provides identifying participants in the meeting, accessing a schedule for each of the participants and determining an availability for each of the participants past the scheduled end time of the meeting from the respective schedules. The method further provides determining the impact based on the availability for each of the participants.

Abstract: In order to authenticate a caller, a callee generates a code, such as, an alphanumeric code that is sent to a code manager via an electronic communication channel. The generated code is for authenticating a caller in a communication session to be made by the caller to the callee. The code manager stores the code in a memory. After the communication session has been initiated from the caller to the callee and then established, the code is sent to the callee so the callee can verify the caller is authentic.

Abstract: A communication device is described along with various methods and systems for controlling the same. Methods are provided that monitor audio from a local and remote audio stream when determining whether to provide a mute notification on a muted call. In general, when a mute function of a communication device is active and a user attempts to speak, the system can analyze the user's local audio stream and the call's remote audio stream to determine whether characteristics exist to provide a mute notification to the user. The system provides mechanisms for controlling false positive determinations of speaking through mute by utilizing a combination of recorded characteristics and initiated timers that can be adjusted based on determinations made.
