  • Patent number: 11972782
Abstract: Systems and methods for generating individualized content trailers. Content such as a video is divided into segments each representing a set of common features. With reference to a set of stored user preferences, certain segments are selected as aligning with the user's interests. Each selected segment may then be assigned a label corresponding to the plot portion or element to which it belongs. A coherent trailer may then be assembled from the selected segments, ordered according to their plot elements. This allows a user to see not only segments containing subject matter that aligns with their interests, but also a set of such segments arranged to give the user an idea of the plot, and a sense of drama, increasing the likelihood of engagement with the content.

  • Patent number: 11961507
Abstract: A transcription of a query for content discovery is generated, and a context of the query is identified, as well as a first plurality of candidate entities to which the query refers. A search is performed based on the context of the query and the first plurality of candidate entities, and results are generated for output. A transcription of a second voice query is then generated, and it is determined whether the second transcription includes a trigger term indicating a corrective query. If so, the context of the first query is retrieved. A second term of the second query similar to a term of the first query is identified, and a second plurality of candidate entities to which the second term refers is determined. A second search is performed based on the second plurality of candidates and the context, and new search results are generated for output.

  • Publication number: 20240121141
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for modifying modulated signals for transmission. The system receives a modulated signal comprising a speech signal and a carrier wave and generates first and second spectral signals by converting the modulation signal and carrier wave from the time domain to the frequency domain respectively. The system then determines spectral bands for the first and second spectral signals. For each spectral band, the system calculates a weighted spectral band value based on a magnitude of the first spectral signal within the spectral band and generates a modified spectral signal by modifying the second spectral signal with the weighted spectral band value. The system then converts the modified spectral signal from the frequency domain to the time domain and transmits the converted modified spectral signal to a server.

  • Patent number: 11948551
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed and described for correcting errors in ASR transcriptions. For an incorrect transcription, different words or phrases from the transcription, and/or related words or phrases, are submitted as hint words to the ASR system, and the voice query is submitted again, to determine new transcriptions. This process is repeated with different transcription terms, until a different and more proper transcription is generated. This increases the accuracy of ASR systems.

  • Patent number: 11922931
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for modifying a phonetic search index based on a use frequency associated with phonetic representations of text terms included in metadata of a media item. A first phonetic representation of a text term of the metadata, pronounced as a word, may be generated. A second phonetic representation of the text term may be generated by concatenating a phonetic representation of each letter in the text term. A database may be queried to determine use frequencies of the first and second phonetic representations, one of which may be selected based on a comparison of the use frequencies. A phonetic search index may be modified by including an entry for the selected phonetic representation. A voice query related to the media item may be received, and a reply to the voice query may be generated for output by performing a lookup in the modified phonetic search index.

  • Patent number: 11914561
Abstract: A frequency of occurrence for each term in a training data set is determined in relation to the entire training data set. A relational data structure is generated that associates each term in the training data with its respective frequency. Any term that has a frequency below a threshold frequency is then added to a list of relevant words. When a natural language search query is received, a plurality of terms in the natural language search query are identified and compared with the list of relevant words. If any term of the natural language search query is included in the relevant words list, that term is identified as a keyword. The natural language search query is then interpreted based on any identified keywords.
