Abstract: A high voltage circuit breaker includes at least one interrupter for opening an electrical circuit, an operating mechanism for actuating the interrupter, a frame for support of the operating mechanism and interrupter, and a mechanical linkage for coupling the operating mechanism to the interrupter. The mechanical linkage includes a rotatable shaft. At least one force containment arm is connected to the rotatable shaft and the frame. The force containment arm has a head with a cylindrical opening for encircling the rotatable shaft and a bearing structure on an inner surface bounding the cylindrical opening.

Abstract: A gas mounting device is provided for a high voltage circuit breaker operable to be fitted integrally on one end of a tank of the circuit breaker, said mounting device being substantially a ring shape and comprising at least three identical machined entries through the bottom of the ring such that access is obtainable through the mounting device into the tank. The gas mounting device allows for a gas system to be installed in a three phase circuit breaker.

Abstract: A switching device has an improved fastening arrangement to join an electrical insulating body with a conductive metal mounting piece or flange. The fastening arrangement involves a plurality of standard hardware fasteners. The quantity of fasteners required to join the insulating body and flange is dependent upon the desired strength of the joint and the size (or diameter if the insulating body is tubular shaped) of the insulating body.

Abstract: A switching device has an improved fastening arrangement to provide a hermetic and gas-tight, secure joint where the electrical insulating bushing mates with a circuit interrupter tank. The fastening arrangement utilizes a plurality of fasteners that are inserted laterally, or more preferably, substantially perpendicular to the central axis of the insulating bushing, and spaced equidistantly around the perimeter of the insulating bushing. The switching device also discloses a novel external housing arrangement to enclose externally mounted circuit transformers that has an enhanced profile and affords easy accessibility to the transformers in the field.
