  • Patent number: 9216120
Abstract: The manual shopping chair includes a frame supported by a left rear wheel, a right rear wheel, a left front caster wheel and a right front caster wheel. A wheel lock disk with a plurality of radially extending slots is connected to each rear wheel. Springs urge lock bars toward the slots to lock both wheels. The lock bars are manually held out of the slots during movement. A mast is clamped to the frame front. A pair of basket support tubes are pivotally attached to the mast by a shaft in vertical slots. A basket is clamped to basket tubes. The basket is pivotable from a storage position to an upright position. Hooks hold the support tubes in an upright position. The mast top edge is lower than a seat mounted on the frame for nesting multiple shopping units.

  • Patent number: 7506879
Abstract: A portable floor surface and method of use thereof facilitates unloading side-by-side cargo carts disposed in laterally spaced relation with an aisle defined between them. The floor surface has a body with opposite front and rear ends and lower and upper surfaces extending between the front and rear ends. The upper surface is brought into a generally flush relation with the floor of the cargo cart when the lower surface is resting on a common floor surface with the cargo cart. A ramp surface extends at an upward inclination from the front end toward the rear end and a latch member operably associated with the body is adapted for operable engagement with a first cargo cart to releasably lock the portable floor surface to the first cargo cart.

  • Publication number: 20080190917
Abstract: A freight handling apparatus includes at least one of a container or a platform. The container has a front to receive freight and a first retaining feature disposed at the front. The platform has a side that may be laterally opposed to the front of the container and a second retaining feature disposed at the side. The platform retaining feature may cooperate with the container retaining feature to releasably retain the platform to the container.

  • Publication number: 20080181760
Abstract: A fork attachment that can be used with a fork of a material handling device to handle a load may include a body and a head. The body is constructed to be carried by the fork, and the head is constructed to engage the load. The head is mounted to the body so that the head rotates about the body to engage the load if and when the load is initially misaligned with respect to the head such as when load has an angled base or when the ground beneath the load is uneven.

  • Patent number: 7310842
Abstract: A portable ramp assembly and method of construction provides a ramp assembly with a pair of side rails and a plurality of panels adapted for releasable attachment to the side rails. The panels have an upper support surface and a like lower support surface facing opposite the upper support surface. The panels are individually removable from the side rails to interchange the upper and lower support surfaces.

  • Patent number: 7216877
Abstract: A brake system operable to inhibit movement of a non-powered transportable cart. The cart has a platform with opposite front and rear ends, at least one pivotal caster wheel adjacent and supporting one of the front or rear ends, and a pair of fixed wheels. The brake system has a brake arm with a brake bar extending laterally therefrom. The brake arm is pivotal between a disengaged position and an engaged position. When in the disengaged position, a gap is defined between the brake bar and the fixed wheels to allow the fixed wheels to rotate freely. When in the engaged position, the brake bar engages the fixed wheels to prevent them from rotating. A brake latch is carried by the platform and has a catch sized to receive the brake arm to releasably maintain the brake arm in its engaged position.

  • Patent number: 7195257
Abstract: A cargo cart system with a cradle assembly includes a pair of support rails with generally sinuous upper and lower surfaces and at least one cross bar spanning the support rails. The sinuous upper and lower surfaces are maintained in mirrored relation with one another to define pairs of laterally spaced upper and lower support surfaces to support containers in a stabilized position. A method of assembling and retaining containers includes providing a plurality of the cradle assemblies; placing a first cradle assembly on the cart; placing a first row of containers upon the first cradle assembly; placing a second cradle assembly over the first row of containers; and, placing a second row of containers upon the second cradle assembly.

  • Patent number: 5026246
Abstract: A backhoe pivotally supported from a prime mover is disclosed wherein the hydraulic cylinders operably connected to the outrigger stabilizers are provided with a detent to maintain the outrigger stabilizers in an elevated transport position until being pressurized to extend the cylinders and, thereby, rotate the stabilizers into a ground engaging position. The detent is in the form of a projection extending inwardly from the barrel of the outrigger stabilizer cylinder and positioned for engagement with a deformable detent ring when the piston is moved to the fully retracted position. The detent includes a relief to permit the flow of hydraulic fluid past the engagement between the detent ring and the projection so that hydraulic cylinder will not become hydraulically locked.
