    Abstract: The present invention is in the field of aqueous emulsions that dry into water-insoluble or water-resistant structures that are useful for active packaging, manufactured devices and components, and other applications. The aqueous emulsions of the present invention comprise biopolymers, metal in the form of a salt, nanoparticles or metal oxide nanoparticles, essential oil, and additives such as surfactants and plasticizers. When the components of the emulsion are mixed following the distinctive method of preparation, a water-soluble fluid is obtained, which, upon drying, becomes a water-insoluble or water-resistant solid exhibiting antimicrobial, antioxidative, and other useful properties including tensile strength, elasticity, transparency. The obtained fluid may be applied by spraying, pouring, injecting, 3-D printing, or otherwise formed into a solid product of any geometrical shape including film, foil, or other 3-D shape.

A camera in accordance with a particular embodiment includes a system that determines a parameter of each of a plurality of existing photographs, the parameter being representative of a characteristic of each existing photograph, determines a figure of merit associated with each existing photograph, the figure of merit being representative of a price, popularity, and/or reputation of each existing photograph, and correlates the figures of merit with the parameters to determine a target parameter. A camera in accordance with another embodiment can include a system that analyzes a preview image from the camera, classifies the preview image, determines a parameter of the preview image associated with the classification, compares the parameter to the target parameter, and adjusts the camera to cause the preview image to have the target parameter.

    Abstract: Stowable and deployable unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and associated systems and methods are disclosed. A UAV in accordance with a particular embodiment includes a main body, frames carried by the main body, and motors carried by the frames. At least two frames are positioned to move relative to each other between a stowed configuration in which the frames are generally aligned proximate to each other and a deployed configuration different from the stowed configuration. The main body can include a first body portion pivotably connected to a second body portion. In a stowed configuration, the body portions can generally overlap each other. A UAV in accordance with particular embodiments includes a modular electronics unit carried by the UAV and including a camera, a battery, and a vehicle controller. Modular electronics units can be configured to be removably connected to and disconnected from the UAV and other vehicles.
