  • Publication number: 20100136468
Abstract: The present invention relates to an integrated mastering system and a method for manufacturing master discs for optical media. The system according to the invention comprises means for recording information on a master disc including means for applying a material layer to a master disc, a laser beam recorder for illuminating the material layer in a desired pattern based on the information to be recorded, means for developing the material layer, means for determining the quality of the developed layer based on measurement of a light beam diffracted by the pattern recorded on the master disc, and means for controlling the means for recording on the basis of the quality of the master disc. According to the method of the present invention, the quality of the developed layer of a master disc is determined and the mastering process settings of a subsequent master disc are controlled.

  • Publication number: 20100129735
Abstract: The invention provides a method of manufacturing a substrate comprising at least two areas with the same or different pattern(s) on the surface of the substrate. The process comprises the steps of providing the substrate applying a layer of a radiation sensitive material on the substrate, recording the pattern(s) on the at least two areas (2a to 2d) in the layer of radiation sensitive material by circularly moving a focused recording spot in one sweep over the entire substrate (1) in the layer of sensitive material by moving a focused laser spot in one sweep over the entire substrate, and developing the layer of sensitive material. The invention further provides a method for manufacturing at least two stamps or masks for manufacturing of semiconductor devices using a mastering process.

  • Patent number: 7652236
Abstract: A lighting arrangement provides light of a desired color. The arrangement includes light sources that each emit light of a respective color that, when mixed, is perceivable as the desired color. A light detector is configured to receive light reflected by a color reference surface having a specific reference color. A controller is configured to analyzes a signal from the light detector and recognizes the color of the received light as the color of the reference surface. The controller controls the light sources such that the desired color corresponds to the color of the color reference surface.

  • Publication number: 20080185499
Abstract: A lighting arrangement (100) provides light (117) of a desired color. The arrangement comprises a plurality of light sources (101, 102, 103) that each emit light of a respective color that, when mixed, is perceivable as the desired color. A light detector (197) is configured to receive light (116) reflected by a color reference surface (109) having a specific reference color. The detector also provides a s (105) analyzes the signal from the light detector and recognizes the color of the received light as the color of the reference surface. The controller controls the light sources such that the desired color corresponds to the color of the color reference surface.

  • Patent number: 5722775
Abstract: A dynamic groove bearing (9, 83, 95) with an inner bearing pan (15) and an outer bearing part (17) which is rotatable about the inner bearing part (15). The bearing parts (15, 17) are provided with cooperating bearing surfaces (23, 35) between which a bearing gap (45) is present filled with a liquid lubricant (75). The bearing surface (35) of at least one of the bearing pans (17) is provided with a pattern of grooves (51, 53).The outer bearing part (17) has an annular barrier (69, 87, 99) which is raised with respect to the bearing surface (35) of the outer bearing part (17) and which bounds the bearing gap (45). The barrier (69, 87, 99) prevents leakage of the liquid lubricant (75) from the dynamic groove bearing (9, 83, 95) at comparatively high rotation speeds of the dynamic groove bearing (9, 83, 95).

  • Patent number: 5714828
Abstract: An improved spindle motor, particularly for a hard-disc drive, having a stator in the form of a cylindrical coil carried by a mounting plate and a permanent magnet rotor carried on a rotatable hub. At its outer circumference the rotor generates a field perpendicular to the axis of rotation. A bell-shaped portion of the hub surrounds the coil. The hub is supported on the motor shaft by axial and radial hydrodynamic bearings. A soft-iron sleeve-shaped yoke externally surrounds the coil configuration. This permits the coil to be free of soft-magnetic parts, thereby reducing its inductance and improving the dynamic drive characteristics of the motor. The coil is preferably formed by curved foil windings, so there are no winding slots. This avoids the production of detent torques.

  • Patent number: 5490021
Abstract: A support device (1) with a first bearing part (33) and a second bearing part (51). The first bearing part (33) is in a housing (11), while the second bearing part (51) is provided on a locking piece (53) fastened to the housing (11). Leakage along the locking piece (53) of a fluid present between the bearing parts (33, 51) is prevented by the use of a sealing element (59). The sealing element (59) is provided under pretension between the locking piece (53) and a pressure member (61, 87) fastened to the housing (11), the locking piece (53) bearing on the housing (11) under the influence of the pretension of the sealing element (59). Since the locking piece (53) bears on the housing (11) under the influence of the pretension of the sealing element (59), the locking piece (53) is fixed in an accurate position relative to the housing (11 ). An accurately defined mutual position of the first and the second bearing part (33, 51) is achieved in this manner.
