    Abstract: A picture frame comprises a frame member defining an opening and a front surface and a rear surface. First and second substantially parallel grooves are formed on either the front or rear surface, and at least one spline is provided which can be releasably located within the first or second grooves. Further, a method of mounting a work on a picture frame is provided and comprises placing the work face down on a work surface, and placing the frame member over the work so that the front surface of the frame member is touching the work. The work is folded over the edge of the frame member to be adjacent the rear surface of the frame member. A spline is inserted into the one of parallel grooves so as to capture the work in the groove by the force of the spline.
