  • Publication number: 20040146990
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for generating a population of monoclonal antibodies capable of binding to antigens representative of a particular cell type. The method is unique in that it minimizes the generation of non-representative antibodies cross-reacting with proteins not present in a particular cell type; it also maximizes the preservation of intact antigens, especially surface antigens, for production of a plurality of monoclonal antibodies that bind to the native antigens. The present invention also includes a method of determining the combination of cell surface antigens present on a specific cell type. Further provided by the invention are hybridomas, populations of monoclonal antibodies produced by the hybridomas of the present invention.
