  • Publication number: 20060115755
Abstract: Silicon-containing layers for electrophotographic photoreceptors which have high mechanical strength, improved electrophotographic characteristics and improved image deletion characteristics even under conditions of high temperature and high humidity are provided. Such silicon-containing layers include silicon-containing compounds, which may be cross-linked, and siloxane-containing antioxidants that can be selected from hindered phenol antioxidants, hindered amine antioxidants, thioether antioxidants and phosphite antioxidants. Electrophotographic photoreceptors and electrophotographic imaging apparatuses containing such silicon-containing layers are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20060111583
Abstract: Forming a 4-aminobiphenyl derivative arylamine compound, includes (i) providing a first disubstituted 4-aminobiphenyl compound; (ii) optionally formylating the first disubstituted 4-aminobiphenyl compound to form a bisformyl substituted compound where the first disubstituted 4-aminobiphenyl compound is not a bisformyl substituted compound; (iii) acidifying the bisformyl substituted compound to convert formyl functional groups into acid functional groups to form an acidified compound; and (iv) hydrogenating the acidified compound to saturate at least one unsaturated double bonds in the acidified compound.

  • Publication number: 20060111582
Abstract: 4-aminobiphenyl derivative arylamine compounds are formed by providing an iodinated organic compound; substituting the iodinated organic compound at carboxylic acid groups thereof to provide ester protecting groups; conducting an Ullman condensation reaction to convert the product of step (ii) into an arylamine compound; and conducting a Suzuki coupling reaction to add an additional phenyl group to the arylamine compound in the 4-position relative to the nitrogen.

  • Publication number: 20040209117
Abstract: The present invention is an organic light emitting device (OLED) comprising an anode, a cathode and a luminescent region provided between the anode and the cathode. The luminescent region comprises an electron injection and transporting zone and at least one of a hole injection and transporting zone and a mixed charge transport layer. One or both of the electron injection and transporting zone and the mixed charge transporting layer comprises an azole compound represented by formula I and/or II. The provision of the novel azole compounds of the invention as electron transport materials within an organic electroluminescent device advantageously reduces power consumption and increases power conversion efficiency within the device and as such, are suitable for a variety of display applications.
