  • Publication number: 20190151195
Abstract: A tray (100) for accommodating a coiled medical device, such as a catheter assembly (700), includes a first compartment (101), a second compartment (102), and a third compartment (103). The catheter assembly (700) and devices associated with a catheterization procedure, such as syringes (701,702) containing sterile water and lubricating jelly and a specimen container (703) can be disposed within the tray. A first barrier (105) and second barrier (106) separate the compartments. The barriers can have openings (121,122) therein to accommodate large syringes or to enable the first compartment (101) to be used as a lubricant applicator for the catheter. The first compartment (101) can include a stair-stepped contour (115) such that the syringes are held at different depths to facilitate ease of use. The various devices can be disposed within the tray (100) in accordance with their order of use in the catheterization procedure.

  • Publication number: 20180001052
Abstract: A Foley catheter kit includes a surface defining a single layer tray with at least two compartments at least partially separated by a barrier. A first syringe is disposed in a first compartment, while a Foley catheter, coupled to coiled tubing and a fluid drain bag, is disposed within a second compartment. The first compartment defines a lubricating jelly application chamber to lubricate at least a portion of the Foley catheter when the portion is passed from the second compartment to the first compartment. Printed instructions for using the single layer tray can be molded into the single layer tray.

  • Patent number: 9795761
Abstract: Printed instructions can be included with the tray in a medical procedure kit.—The printed instructions can include instructional material, such as pictorial, step-by-step instructions intended for a health care services provider for using the medical procedure kit. The printed instructions can also include a separate patient aid, suitable for inclusion within the medical procedure kit, which includes patient education information relating to a particular medical procedure. To make recognition easier, the patient aid can be configured with a greeting card appearance, activity sheet appearance, or other graphical indicia that indicates that the patient aid is intended for the patient and should be delivered to the patient.

  • Patent number: 9421149
Abstract: According to one aspect, a fluid collection bag comprises an inlet opening adapted to receive an inlet tube located on a first side of the fluid collection bag. The fluid collection bag has a length greater than the height. The first side of the fluid collection bag is generally parallel with a length of the fluid collection bag. The fluid collection bag further comprises an outlet opening located on a second side of the fluid collection bag. The fluid collection bag may be reversible such that a first surface or a second opposing surface of the fluid collection bag may face a support element.

  • Patent number: 8986268
Abstract: A cover (100) having one or more openings (106,107) and one or more complementary closure devices (112,113) fits about a fluid drain bag, such as a urinary catheter drain bag (301). The cover (100) can be configured to be both partially transparent and partially opaque. Accordingly, a health services provider (401) can instantly perform rudimentary analysis of the fluid level (401) with a quick glance, yet can perform more in-depth analysis by lifting a front panel (102) at the lower opening (107). The in-depth analysis can be done without removing the cover (100). The cover 100 is also semiopaque, thereby protecting patient dignity by obfuscating the cover's contents.
