  • Publication number: 20090124017
Abstract: Provided is sampling device and method for the detection of protein-containing substances. The sampling device includes a first reagent holder coupled to a second reagent holder by an activating member. Coupled to first reagent holder is a first reagent reservoir and coupled to second reagent holder is a second reagent reservoir. The first reagent reservoir is protected from the ambient environment by a first reagent protector and the second reagent reservoir is similarly protected from the ambient environment by a second reagent protector. After a sample has been obtained from the surface of a sampling object, the application of a sufficient activation force on the activating member places the first reagent reservoir in fluid communication with the second reagent reservoir.
