  • Patent number: 11184451
Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for handling notifications. A notification system monitors content (e.g., photograph) followed by a user for updates on a communication system. If the notification system identifies updates to content out of the monitored content, then the notification system applies the policy for delivering notifications concerning the content followed by the user that was updated. The notification system registers to receive information about updates to the content followed by the user as well as new events on the communication system. In response to identifying updates to content related to the content followed by the user that was updated from the received information, a summary concerning the updates to the content followed by the user and the related content is then generated. A notification is then delivered to the user containing the generated summary in a manner consistent with the policy.

  • Patent number: 10554605
Abstract: Determining a visibility of an online conversation for a new participant includes presenting a user interface (UI) to a group of users to allow each of the users in the group of users to specify tags, the tags defining relationships between each of the users, determining initial participants from the group of users for an online conversation on a social network, identifying, based on the tags, a subject for the online conversation with respect to each of the initial participants of the online conversation, and determining, based on the subject, a visibility of the online conversation for a new participant from the group of users.

  • Publication number: 20190349212
Abstract: A method, computer system, and a computer program product for evaluating an effectiveness of an electronic meeting based on real-time audience analysis is provided. The present invention may include receiving a participant data feed having at least one physical marker of a meeting participant. The present invention may include measuring the physical marker of each participant. The present invention may include deriving at least one initial audience metric associated with the participant. The present invention may include generating a baseline participant score for each participant based on the derived initial audience metric. The present invention may include evaluating the generated baseline participant score in view of at least one initial factor.

  • Publication number: 20170024454
Abstract: A computer implemented method and system for assessing communications of users on an online social network includes monitoring a plurality of communications of users using electronic devices. Each of the communications correspond to an originating user. Content of the communications is analyzed for uniqueness using a first metric. The first metric including categorizing the content based on uniqueness factors. A uniqueness value of the content of the communications is determined based on the content analysis using the first metric. The communications are analyzed for engagement using a second metric. The second metric includes quantifying the communications based on engagement factors. An engagement value is determined for the communications based on the communications analysis using the second metric. A contribution value is assigned to each of the originating users. The contribution value is based on the uniqueness value and the engagement value of the originating user's communications.

  • Patent number: 8141072
Abstract: A method for customizing end-user or administrative software documentation such as installation instructions is provided. A software provider first collects computer system information for multiple computer sub-systems used by a customer. The collected computer system information comprises sub-system descriptions of each of the multiple computer sub-systems, software descriptions of all software that is currently residing in each of the multiple computer sub-systems, and hardware descriptions of all hardware that are allocated to each of the multiple computer sub-systems. The software provider then receives, from the customer, the name of new software that is to be installed in a user-selected computer sub-system. Based on the collected computer system information, the software provider determines which specific device in the user-selected computer sub-system should have the new software installed. At run time, variables in the installation instructions are replaced with a device's name.
