Publication number: 20240082024Abstract: A stent device includes generally cylindrical rings aligned along a longitudinal axis, and interconnected by interconnecting members. Each interconnecting member includes a first coupling end, a second coupling end, and an elongate portion therebetween. The first coupling end, the elongate portion, and the second coupling end combine in either a first orientation or a second orientation, which are substantially mirror images. For each interconnecting member, the first coupling end can intersect with a midpoint of a transition region of a substantially repeating curved segment on one of the rings, and the second coupling end can intersect with a midpoint of a curved segment of a different and immediately adjacent ring. The interconnecting members can be arranged in rows extending longitudinally along the device. Along each row, consecutive interconnected members alternate between the first orientation and the second orientation. A cover may be provided over the stent device.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 16, 2023Publication date: March 14, 2024Applicant: ATRIUM MEDICAL CORPORATIONInventors: John LANE, David HEIM, Christine SCHICK, Jennifer LETZELTER, Susan HAMELIN

Patent number: 11918331Abstract: A movement detection device includes a signal transmission device configured to transmit a radar signal transmission toward a target area and to receive reflected radar signals, and a signal analysis device configured to analyze the reflected radar signals to detect a movement in the target area that is indicative of micro-shivering. In response to detecting the micro-shivering, the movement detection device generates an alarm.Type: GrantFiled: November 24, 2020Date of Patent: March 5, 2024Assignee: Hill-Rom Services, Inc.Inventors: Steven D. Publication number: 20070154395Abstract: The invention provides an in vivo screening assay and an in vitro screening assay for rapid screening of diabetes. A method of the invention includes determining a first glucose concentration in an ocular fluid of a patient; administering orally a load of carbohydrate to the patient; determining a second glucose concentration in an ocular fluid of the patient at a period of time of less than 50 minutes after orally administering of the load of carbohydrate; comparing the second glucose concentration with the first glucose concentration to determine if the patient is likely to be a diabetic. The method of the invention is performed by using a kit of the invention. The kit comprises: (1) a glucose-sensing ophthalmic device and instructions for using the glucose-sensing ophthalmic device to screen for diabetes; or (2) two or more tear-collecting devices, and a testing agent composition which specifically reacts with glucose to form a detectable signal.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 15, 2007Publication date: July 5, 2007Inventors: Carol Morris, Fiona Carney, Jennifer Lane

Publication number: 20070140911Abstract: The invention, in one aspect, provides a strip for tear collection. The strip has a first end and an opposite second end and preferably has substantially uniform cross-sections from the first end to the second end. The strip is made of a hydrogel material in substantially dry state. The strip is characterized by having a substantially uniform swelling along the hydrogel strip from the first end to the second end when fully wicked by a tear fluid and by having a correlation between the volume of tear uptake by said strip and the length of the wicked end portion of said strip. A strip of the invention is useful for assay of an analyte of interest in a tear fluid. The invention also provides a method and kits for assaying an analyte of interest (e.g., lactoferrin, glucose, herpes simplex virus, hormones, etc.).Type: ApplicationFiled: February 15, 2007Publication date: June 21, 2007Inventors: Flona Carney, Jennifer Lane, Carol Morris

Patent number: 6633838Abstract: The system and method of the present invention is embodied in a multi-state on-chip logic analyzer that is preferably integrated into a VLSI circuit. In general, the logic analyzer is preferably coupled to a multilevel trace array for storing event trace data generated by the logic analyzer. Input and output logic coupled to both the trace array and the logic analyzer allows reading or writing from or to the trace array, and programming of trigger and condition criteria for transitioning states within the logic analyzer. The logic analyzer has the capability match one or more programmable trigger events to satisfy one or more programmable conditions. Further, the logic analyzer preferably has the capability to initialize programmable conditions in desired states, and to store event trace data in an on-chip array for trace data reconstruction and analysis.Type: GrantFiled: November 4, 1999Date of Patent: October 14, 2003Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Lakshminarayana Baba Arimilli, Michael Stephen Floyd, Larry Scott Leitner, Kevin F. Patent number: 6438722Abstract: The foregoing objects are achieved as is now described. A method and system for testing an integrated circuit are provided. A test substrate is provided which is manufactured by the same particular production technology for which the complex integrated circuit is designed. A pattern generator for generating test data and a result checker for comparing output data are embedded on the test substrate. Isolated portions of circuitry of the integrated circuit are selectively embedded onto the test substrate. The isolated portions of circuitry are subjected to testing by applying test data from the pattern generator to the isolated portions of circuitry. Errors in the isolated portions of circuitry are detected with the result checker by comparing data output from the isolated portions of circuitry with predetermined expected data, such that the integrated circuit is tested by susets, independently of testing the integrated circuit in its entirety.Type: GrantFiled: August 11, 1999Date of Patent: August 20, 2002Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Roger Ned Bailey, Michael Stephen Floyd, Bradley McCredie, Kevin Franklin Reick, Hugh Rodney Stigdon, Jennifer Lane Vargus

Patent number: 6393594Abstract: A method and system for testing an integrated circuit. A test substrate is provided which is manufactured by the same particular production technology for which the integrated circuit is designed. A pattern generator for generating test data and a result checker for comparing output data are embedded on the test substrate. Isolated portions of circuitry of the integrated circuit are selectively embedded onto the test substrate. Test data from the pattern generator is applied to the isolated portions of circuitry under a first operating condition. The data output from the isolated portions of circuitry is selectively recorded into the result checker. The isolated portions of circuitry are then subjected to testing by applying test data from the pattern generator to the isolated portions of circuitry under a second operating condition.Type: GrantFiled: August 11, 1999Date of Patent: May 21, 2002Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Carl J.
