  • Patent number: 9080768
Abstract: Gasifier preheater fuel and moderator injection apparatus, systems and methods are provided. A preheater distributor ring is securely mounted within the shell dome of a gasification vessel, for the selective discharge of preheat fuel and oxidizer into the vessel during preheating operations, or for the selective discharge of moderating agents into the vessel during normal gasification operations.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 8, 2012
Date of Patent: July 14, 2015
    Assignee: General Electric Company
Inventors: John Caleb Wilson, Jennifer Lucia Ramirez, James Scott Kain, Shaoping Shi, Dinh-Cuong Vuong, Edward Pan
  • Patent number: 8951313
Abstract: The present application thus provides a gasifier cooling system for cooling a flow of hot syngas from a gasifier. The gasifier cooling system may include a radiant syngas cooler, a quench chamber, and a convective syngas cooler such that the flow of syngas flows through the quench chamber or the convective syngas cooler.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 28, 2012
Date of Patent: February 10, 2015
    Assignee: General Electric Company
Inventors: Qiong Zhou, Wei Chen, Thomas Glen Cobb, Jennifer Lucia Ramirez, Hsien-Chin William Yen
  • Patent number: 8882887
Abstract: A method of reducing the concentration of at least one sulfur compound in a process stream and for recovering at least one sulfur compound from a process stream are provided. A process stream is delivered to a vessel, wherein the vessel comprises an adsorbent material. At least one solvent is transferred into the vessel. One or more fluids are then removed from the vessel. At least one of the fluids removed from the vessel comprises a clean gas. The adsorbent material may be regenerated to yield a high concentration of the at least one sulfur compound.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 29, 2012
Date of Patent: November 11, 2014
    Assignee: General Electric Company
Inventors: Judith Pauline Oppenheim, George Frederick Frey, Jennifer Lucia Ramirez, Hsien-Chin William Yen
