Abstract: Techniques for patient medical care are disclosed. These techniques include identifying a plurality of rules relating to a purchase of a medical item. The techniques further include selecting a first rule, of the plurality of rules, to apply to the purchase, including generating a specificity score for each of the plurality of rules, based on setting one or more bit values in each specificity score using matching criteria between the respective rule and the purchase and comparing the specificity scores for the plurality of rules. The techniques further include facilitating supply of the medical item to a patient based on completing the purchase using the selected first rule.

Abstract: A method of utilizing the Internet to permit music teachers to measure and document the progress of their music students without infringing the copyright of the owners of the music the students are learning. In order to avoid copyright infringement the method assures that all performances of the copyrighted works be made in private and not displayed publicly. In a preferred embodiment the method includes the creation of a number of secure private Internet systems, one for each student, with each system limited to a studio administrator, the student, his teacher, and a limited number (preferably less than 25) of designated third parties such as family members and friends of the student. In other preferred embodiment student performances are made available to the general public through the Internet for a fee which is shared with the owner, if any, of the copyright.

A server computer is programmed to facilitate communication between the music student and other individuals. A music student computer is connected to the server computer. The music student computer is for transmitting and receiving music information related to the learning process of the music student. Likewise, a third party computer is connected to the server computer. The third party computer allows a pre-approved third party to transmit and receive music information related to the learning process of the music student An administrator computer is also connected to the server computer. The administrator computer permits an administrator to coordinate communication between the music student and the third party.
