Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein to control brightness based on image content or other inputs to a display system. A dual-control system may integrate both slow control operations and fast control operations into a cohesive brightness management system. By using both shorter-term (e.g., fast control) and longer-term (e.g., slow control) brightness adjustment operations, the electronic device may quickly respond to high luminance and high brightness situations that may cause burn-in into the display, image artifacts, or other damage. Responding quickly to these high consumption situations may prevent damage or perceivable upset to an ongoing process, among other benefits.

Abstract: The invention relates generally to anti-PD-L1 antibodies, and recombinant sialidase and anti-PD-L1 immunoglobulin antigen-binding domain fusion proteins. The invention also provides antibody conjugates including a sialidase and an anti-PD-L1 antibody or a portion thereof. The invention further relates to methods of using the antibodies, sialidase fusion proteins, or antibody conjugates for treating cancer.

Abstract: An update system of a portable executable program and the method thereof are provided. By verifying a vendor identification code and machine identification code and checking information of the portable executable program, the system can update the portable executable program in a portable storage device. This solves the inconvenience problem in updating a portable executable program in a portable storage device that requires repeated registrations. Using the system and method, the portable executable program in a portable storage device can be updated without involving repeated registrations.

Abstract: A system of synchronizing data in different storage devices and the method thereof are provided to remove the inconvenience in synchronizing data between storage devices. By detecting the process execution status, data synchronization is triggered to transmit data. The invention can achieve the goal of increasing the efficiency of data synchronization between storage devices.

Abstract: A system and a method for inputting edited translation words or sentence are provided to solve the problem that editing translation words or sentence and inputting the edited translation words or sentence cannot be performed by successive actions. In this system and method, the input words or sentence input into an input region by a user are intercepted and translated into translation words or sentence, and a function of editing the translation words or sentence is provided in a display region for displaying the translation words or sentence, thereby achieving the efficacy of inputting the edited translation words or sentence into the input region directly.

After the speech file is loaded via a loading module, a sentence unit determining module partitions content of the speech file into a plurality of sentence units to produce a list of sentence units. A subtitle highlighting speed calculating module calculates a speed of highlighting every single letter or character contained in the subtitles in the sentence unit index for a sentence unit. A subtitle rolling module displays content of the list of sentence units. When the speech file is played, the subtitles in the sentence unit index are clearly marked, and every letter or character of the subtitles is highlighted. A waveform displaying module marks positions of sentence pauses and playing progress on an oscillogram for the speech file by lines.

Abstract: A directory-oriented electronic document batch translation processing method and system is proposed, which is designed for use in conjunction with a computer platform for the purpose of providing a directory-oriented batch translation processing function for translating a batch of user-desired document files from a first specified language to a second specified language, and which is characterized by the capability of performing a batch translation processing procedure on all document files or one or more user-selected document file under a user-selected directory from the file management system so as to translate the text contents of these document files from a first specified language to a second specified language. This feature allows batch translation to be more convenient and efficient for the user to operate than prior art.

Abstract: A keyword prefix/suffix indexed data retrieval method and system is proposed, which is designed for use in conjunction with a computer platform for providing a keyword prefix/suffix indexed data retrieval function that can respond to a user-input keyword of a phonetic language, such as English, and utilize the prefix/suffix part and stem part of the keyword to search in a database, such as an English-Chinese dictionary database, for the keyword's corresponding data item in the database, such as the Chinese definition and related data of the input English word. The proposed data retrieval method and system is advantageous in that it can help reduce the number of comparisons between the keyword and the indexes, so that the retrieval of the user-requested data item can be made more efficiently.

Abstract: A language-learning system and a method thereof are provided. The system includes a memory unit for storing learning data comprising a first databank for storing exercise data and a second database for storing lookup data, an operating interface for users to input commands, a functional module for performing processes according to the commands input by the users and extracting corresponding exercise data according to the lookup data obtained from the first databank, and an output module for displaying the exercise data and results of processes of the functional module, thereby allows users to select an appropriate exercise level for themselves and provides a language learning interface with correction functionality for users to increase the learning efficiencies of language.

A resource access module is connected via a preset resource path to a speech resource supply device to access speech resources according to access conditions. Then, a format of the accessed speech resources are transformed by a file format transformation module into a preset file format, and the speech resources that fulfill the preset file format are subjected to post-processing by a process interface and tool of a post processing module. The post-processed speech resources are stored in a database. By the speech file generating system and method, a user can process the accessed speech resources into speech learning resources that fulfill particular requirements, so as to achieve a personalized language learning environment for increasing learning efficiency.
