  • Patent number: 11867324
Abstract: Hoses include an inner tube, a reinforcement layer disposed outwardly from the inner tube, and a cover layer disposed outwardly from the reinforcement layer, where the cover layer and/or the inner tube includes a cured composition having a sustainable content and formed from a mixture including EPDM/EPR sustainable polymer and a sulfur or peroxide based curing system. In some cases, the EPDM/EPR sustainable polymer has ethylene monomer derived from one or more renewable sources, such as, ethylene monomer derived from sugar cane. The mixture may further include one or more of recovered carbon black and sustainable oils from renewable sources. The hose embodiments may also include the reinforcement layer formed of fibers from sustainable material. The hose may contain the sustainable content in an amount of up to 75% by weight based upon total hose weight, or even greater than 25% by weight based upon total hose weight.

  • Patent number: 11643539
Abstract: Hoses include a tube, a reinforcement layer disposed outwardly from the tube, and a cover layer disposed outwardly from the reinforcement layer. The cover layer may be based on a first elastomeric blend of a first chlorinated polyethylene and chlorosulphonated polyethylene, a first flame-resistant composition, and a peroxide/sulfur curing system. The tube may be based upon a second elastomeric blend of a second chlorinated polyethylene and ethylene vinyl acetate rubber, a second flame-resistant composition, and a peroxide curing system. The first flame-resistant package and the second flame-resistant package includes one or more ingredients selected from the group consisting of antimony oxide, zinc molybdate/magnesium silicate complex, magnesium aluminum hydroxy carbonate, and aluminum trihydroxide. • Patent number: 6518207
Abstract: An improved agricultural belting (1) formed of multiple fabric by layers (2, 3 or 4), interposing rubber layers (5, 6) and rubber cover layers (7, 8). The fabric plies are a woven of warp yarns (10) extending in the longitudinal direction of the belt (1) and fill yarns (11) extending in the transverse direction of the belt (1). To optimize the transverse stiffness of the belting and other properties of the belt, any of the fabric plies (2, 3, or 4) are formed with selective replacement of the multifilament fill yarns (11) with monofilament cords (13). The fabric ply (2, 3, or 4) formed with monofilament cords (13) has at most fifty percent monofilament fill cords (13).

  • Patent number: 6427728
Abstract: A belting (10) reinforced with at least one fabric ply (16). The fabric ply (16) is a composite fabric (26). The fabric (26) has two woven layers (28, 30) and an intermediate third layer of straight warp yarns (34). The woven layers (28, 30) and straight warp yarns (34) are bound together by a plurality of binder yarns (38). Each layer (28, 30, 34) of the fabric (26) contributes substantially 25-40% to the overall strength of the fabric (26). The composite fabric (26) may be used in a multi-ply belting (10) for heavy duty applications; wherein the fabric ply (26) is the center ply (16) and provides approximately 50 to 75% of the overall belting strength. The fabric (26) may also be used as a single reinforcing ply for light duty application belting.
