  • Patent number: 5271114
Abstract: A supporting pillow for use to support the nape of the neck/head or, if desired the small of the back when the user is at rest and/or for therapeutic treatment. The supporting pillow is formed by folding a pillow, which when folded forms an upper portion (2a), and a lower portion (2b), with lower portion (2b) being longer than upper portion (2a). Upper and lower portions are fastened to each other, preferably, with corner ends (2a") of upper portion (2a) being fastened to the sides of lower portion (2b) to maintain the shape of the supporting pillow (2), thus, provided. The double portion of the supporting pillow comprising upper portion (2a), and lower portion (2b) constitutes portion (A) for the nape of the neck, and the single portion comprising the projecting lower portion (2b) constitutes the head portion (B) when supporting a person's nape of the neck/head. The double portion may also constitute a support of the small of the back of a person in a sitting position.

  • Patent number: 4921304
Abstract: A chair comprising a seat and a back rest forming an acute angle with one another is characterized in that the bisectrix of the acute angle forms an angle in the range of 0.degree.-40.degree. with the vertical line and is inclined backwards towards said back rest when the angle between the bisectrix and the vertical direction is more than zero.

  • Patent number: 4668015
Abstract: A chair without a back/a stool, having an upholstered seat where an elastic, yielding upholstery material, for example foam rubber, is arranged on a carrying frame attached to the base of a chair. The carrying frame comprises a front, transverse support section and a back, transverse support section connected with each other by means of longitudinal frame sections, possibly directly to the base. The front, support section is arranged lower than the back, support section, and a possibly additional, transverse support section is arranged between said front, support section and said back, support section, close to and lower than the support section, possibly around the same height, for the correction of a person's sitting position.

  • Patent number: 4595234
Abstract: A rocking chair with rockers wherein each rocker has a fulcrum between a forward rocker section and a rearward rocker section for tilting the chair into a forward or a backward position, respectively. The chair seat and backrest are connected to the forward ends of the rockers via resilient arms which form acute angles to the rockers and whose upper, substantially horizontal parts support the rear section of the seat, which section is lower than the forward section of the seat. The backrest comprises a straight, fixed, horizontal body disposed at a height of less than 30 cm, preferably about 22 cm, above the lowest section of the seat, which corresponds to the height of the fifth lumbar vertebra of a person sitting in the chair. The vertical thickness of the backrest body is less than 11 cm, preferably 8 cm or less, and its forward surface is approximately vertical when the chair has been tipped into its backward position.
