Publication number: 20250313502Abstract: A method for fabricating glass structures on a substrate includes a step of contacting the substrate with a liquid reactive composition that includes a silsesquioxane, an acrylic oligomer or monomer, and a photoinitiator. The silsesquioxane and the acrylic oligomer or monomer are each independently functionalized with at least two acrylate groups. Light is directed to the substrate such that the reactive composition forms polymeric coating on the substrate. The polymeric coating is heat treated in an oxygen-containing gas environment at a sufficiently high temperature to convert the partially cured coating to a glass, the sufficiently high temperature being lower than the melting point of the substrate.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 8, 2023Publication date: October 9, 2025Applicant: THE REGENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIAInventors: Jens BAUER, Cameron CROOK, Tommaso BALDACCHINI

Patent number: 11209056Abstract: A friction lining assembly having a backing plate and a sheet metal restoring spring fixed thereto, for a partially lined sliding-caliper type disk brake having a brake holder fixed with respect to the vehicle, on which friction lining assemblies arranged on both sides of a brake disk are slidably guided. A housing, which extends over the brake disk and the friction lining assemblies, is slidably mounted on the brake holder. The restoring spring is clamped axially between the brake holder and the friction lining assembly by at least one spring leg and applies a release clearance to the friction lining assembly. The spring leg extends over a hammer-head-shaped claw of the backing plate. The spring leg is plastically deformable in a defined manner under braking actuation as a result of a reduction in the friction-material thickness in order to impose a constantly dimensioned release clearance on the friction lining assembly.Type: GrantFiled: February 10, 2017Date of Patent: December 28, 2021Assignee: CONTINENTAL TEVES AG & CO. OHGInventors: Sebastian Salzmann, Ralph Petri, Norman Langer, Werner Denhard, Thorsten Adam, Christian Lankes, Jens Bauer, Christoph Keil, Dietrich Golz, Mathias Haag, Christoph Kalff

Patent number: 10619684Abstract: A partially lined motor-vehicle disk brake of the first caliper type, with a housing including an actuator system as a normal force generator mounted in a slidably guided fashion on a holder, with at least one friction lining which is configured in a hammerhead shape with claws and which is accommodated in a guided fashion with pull-support in holder arms with receptacle recesses in the holder. In order to avoid reversing clicks, the holder is embodied as a closed frame in that holder webs connect the holder arms to one another, and the holder webs are positioned tangentially in front of the housing limbs of the housing. Accordingly, the force flux in the holder is closed, and in the case of pull suspension all the holder arms are nevertheless included in the force flux.Type: GrantFiled: February 7, 2017Date of Patent: April 14, 2020Assignee: Continental Teves AG & Co. oHGInventors: Thorsten Adam, Jens Bauer, Dietrich Golz, Mathias Haag, Valentin Hummel, Christoph Kalff, Norman Langer, Christian Lankes, Ralph Petri, Dirk Simon

Patent number: 8573889Abstract: A milling robot used to process the internal walls of inaccessible pipelines with a milling robot arm. The milling robot arm supports a milling head that is deflectable via remote control in the direction of the inner wall of the pipe. The milling robot arm stiffens and bends more or less depending on the controlled pressure feed; the eccentric, torsionally rigid, fixed-length core that can only be deflected in one plane provides a high level of torsional rigidity and the outer casing that is stiffened by the controlled internal pressure provides for a high level of stiffness in the longitudinal and bending directions. The milling robot arm can be swiveled all the way around in the inner pipe to be processed with the aid of a supply hose that is rigid in terms of shear or a pneumatically controllable slew ring.Type: GrantFiled: February 17, 2011Date of Patent: November 5, 2013Assignee: IMS Robotics GmbHInventor: Jens Bauer

Patent number: 6357202Abstract: A device capable of transporting package sleeves in an upright position, from any of several filling lines to one or more filling machines, wherein said several filling lines are aligned parallel to each other. The device utilizes a manipulator capable of linear travel in a direction perpendicular to the plane of alignment of the filling lines, a swiveling unit for moving the package sleeves in a direction transverse to the direction of travel of the manipulator unit, and a gripper unit for gripping the package sleeves. The gripper unit is capable of supplying horizontal force to the package sleeves to enable their transport in an upright position. The gripper unit also has means to clamp to the loading magazine of the filling machine and to cause the horizontal transfer of the package sleeves thereto. By use of the present device, semi-automatic or automatic loading of package sleeves to one or more filling machines is possible.Type: GrantFiled: August 4, 1999Date of Patent: March 19, 2002Assignee: SIG Combibloc GmbHInventors: Jens Bauer, Jorg Berger, Thomas Bohme, Franz-Willi Spelten
