  • Patent number: 10061475
Abstract: Techniques are described for generating a graphical user interface for presenting a list of objects. The graphical user interface can include a selection zone encompassed by a partial outer ring that is configured to present a portion of the list of objects. Rotational touch gestures detected in the selection zone can cause the list of objects to scroll around the partial outer ring. The scroll rate of the objects can depend on the number of touch inputs detected as part of the touch gesture.

  • Publication number: 20160189110
Abstract: Meeting organization and execution can be improved through the addition of invited participant location information, which can optionally be derived based on geo-location information accessed from at least one computing device used by the invited participant. Based on comparisons with meeting location information, participant status, including improved predictions of who will attend and how soon one or more participants will arrive can be generated for display in a user interface. In optional implementations, a meeting scheduling process can be improved by incorporation of current location information for one or more invited participants.

  • Patent number: 8612875
Abstract: First user-generated input is received that selects a first element in a graphical user interface identifying a work area. In response, a plurality of second elements characterizing categories of objects associated with the work area are displayed in the graphical user interface. Thereafter, second user-generated input is received that selects a second element in the graphical user interface element. Once the second element is selected, a visual representation of a plurality of primary objects associated with the category corresponding to the second element is displayed. The plurality of displayed primary objects are displayed in a first person perspective projection format with the objects being displayed in order at depths in the first person perspective projection according to values of an attribute associated with the second element. Related apparatus, systems, techniques and articles are also described.

  • Publication number: 20120166946
Abstract: Historical data representative of past interactions of a user of a computer application with a user interface screen of the computer application can be retained, for example for later analysis to determine whether to present one or more instructional feedback elements associated with the user interface screen or with a user interface element within the user interface screen. Upon detecting a current navigation of the user to the user interface screen, a determination can be made whether to present an instructional feedback element. The instructional feedback element can be presented if the historical data indicate at least one factor suggestive of a need by the user for assistance with the user interface screen or with the user interface element within the user interface screen. The instructional feedback element can be hidden if the historical data do not indicate any of the at least one factors. Computer program products, systems, and methods having similar features are also described.

  • Patent number: 7693794
Abstract: Computer system and computer-implemented method for creating travel-expense statements. The computer system is based on electronic data processing means comprising identifying means for automatically creating particular identifying data for identifying which of the travel-expense receipts were related to particular business trips, and determining means for automatically collecting the identifying data of the travel-expense data for determining the travel-expense receipts associated with the particular identifying data. Rather than showing all entries, only those automatically-identified entries may be presented to the user as items that should be associated with a particular travel-expense statement.

  • Publication number: 20080155431
Abstract: A user interface dynamically builds the interface screen functionality from, among other things, a hierarchical definition of a process. The hierarchical definition may identify several process steps as alternatives for each other. During operation, to build a user interface screen, the user interface displays the content of all process steps within the hierarchy that must be present for the application. The user interface also displays a control—a button, pull down menu or other selector—that when activated permits the user to select which alternative of a process step will be used in the current application. Thereafter, the user interface is modified to display content of both the required process steps and the selected alternatives for the current application.
