Patent number: 7260462Abstract: A method for controlling an electromagnetic valve, in particular for an automatic transmission of a motor vehicle. With known methods, electromagnetic valves are triggered with a pulse-width-modulated signal having a constant clock frequency. The object is to provide a method by which a rapid response characteristic and a high adjustment precision of the electromagnetic valve are made possible. The specific properties of a hydraulic system in which electromagnetic valves are used, in particular the rigidity and damping, are not constant but instead change considerably under different operating states of the hydraulic system and/or with different performance quantities of the electromagnetic valve. These different properties are taken into account through the change in the clock frequency as a function of performance quantities of the electromagnetic valve.Type: GrantFiled: February 6, 2004Date of Patent: August 21, 2007Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Norbert Keim, Christof Ott, Wulf-Siegfried Bayha, Martin Krohn, Bernd Huber, Jens Dorfschmid, Juergen Semler

Patent number: 6928896Abstract: The invention relates to an actuating device for an automatic transmission of a motor vehicle. To allow the motor vehicle to be operated safely and managed conveniently, the invention makes provision for the actuating device to have not only a first device, by which a parking interlock can be engaged and released in normal operation of the actuating device, but also a second device, by which the parking interlock can be engaged in the event of a malfunction.Type: GrantFiled: November 25, 2002Date of Patent: August 16, 2005Assignee: DaimlerChrysler AGInventors: Martin Burgbacher, Jens Dorfschmid, Hans-Peter Fiederlein, Harald Nauerz, Joern-Marten Ohle

Patent number: 6895999Abstract: The invention proposes a solenoid valve (10), in particular for automatic transmissions of motor vehicles. Solenoid valves (10) have the problem of vibrations that detract from shifting comfort. Integrating a throttle restriction (52) into the solenoid valve (10) on the part of the solenoid valve (10) oriented toward the consumer as proposed by the invention makes it possible to efficiently reduce such vibrations. In addition, the production costs are low, in particular because the throttle restriction (52) is provided In a filter cage (44) of the solenoid valve (10).Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 2002Date of Patent: May 24, 2005Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Walter Fleischer, Wolfgang Rudolf, Christof Ott, Juergen Semler, Martin Krohn, Bernd Huber, Jens Dorfschmid

Patent number: 6167773Abstract: Adjusting device for the automatic operation of a gear-change device with a shifting shaft associated with linear drives to introduce a rotational and a translatory movement. To convert an introduced translatory movement into a rotational movement, the linear drive provided to introduce rotational movement is actively connected to the shifting shaft by an articulated connection having two support elements that are urged toward each other by a prestress force and an articulated element actively connected in a force locking position between the two support elements by the prestress force.Type: GrantFiled: January 28, 1999Date of Patent: January 2, 2001Assignee: Mannesmann Sachs AGInventors: Jens Dorfschmid, Andreas Ratte

Patent number: 6155129Abstract: A positioning device for an output component for automatically shifting gears of a motor vehicle transmission that undergoes two types of movements comprises a plurality of drives. The movement of each drive can be transmitted via a transmission mechanism to the output component. A first drive causes the output component to undergo movement of a first type, and a second drive causes the output component to undergo movement of a second type. The first drive is connected to a sliding element. The sliding element is axially fixed, but movable in the circumferential direction relative to the output component. The second drive is rotatably fixed, but axially movable output component.Type: GrantFiled: June 18, 1999Date of Patent: December 5, 2000Assignee: Mannesmann Sachs AGInventors: Jens Dorfschmid, Lutz Leimbach, Thomas Wirth, Erwin Bair, Ingo Franz

Patent number: 6105448Abstract: An actuating device for automatically actuating a manual transmission, which has an output element that can be driven in a first direction by a first drive and in a second direction by a second drive. Each drive is assigned a sensor which displays an actuating movement and detects a movement if the output element and whose signals are fed to a control device. In the case of a movement of the output element the sensors output to the control device signals assigned to this movement, the signals specifying the respective magnitude of the movement.Type: GrantFiled: May 28, 1998Date of Patent: August 22, 2000Assignee: Mannesmann Sachs AGInventors: Udo Borschert, Mario Buhner, Lutz Leimbach, Jens Dorfschmid

Actuating drive with valve units for actuating a friction clutch and an automated shift transmission
Patent number: 6015031Abstract: An actuating drive for actuating a friction clutch and an automated shift transmission, having valve units which enable a switching operation, on the one hand, of the friction clutch, and on the other hand, of the shift transmission. It is possible for a change to the switching state at the friction clutch to be triggered by a gear selection device. The valve unit that is assigned to the friction clutch is assigned a switching device which has a link between the actuating cylinder for the slot selection and the hydraulic circuit that is connected to the actuating cylinder for actuating the friction clutch and enables the driving, as required, of one or the other actuating cylinder.Type: GrantFiled: May 13, 1998Date of Patent: January 18, 2000Assignee: Mannesmann Sachs AGInventors: Jens Dorfschmid, Thomas John, Robert Seufert -
Patent number: 5984072Abstract: An adjusting device for operating a friction clutch is brought into active connection with the friction clutch via an output device driven by a drive. The output device includes a compensation device that compensates for a wear-induced position change of the pressure spring of the friction clutch by permitting a length change of the output device. For this purpose, the compensation device includes a fixing device that secures the relative positions of the components of the output device to each other. The fixing device is releasable in a predetermined operating state of the adjusting device by a control element. When released, the fixing device allows the relative movement between the components of the output device required to implement the length change of the output device.Type: GrantFiled: October 2, 1997Date of Patent: November 16, 1999Assignee: Mannesman Sachs AGInventors: Lutz Leimbach, Andreas Ratte, Jens Dorfschmid, Ingo Franz, Thomas Wirth

Patent number: 5875866Abstract: A controlling mechanism, particularly for operating a gear-shift-lever shaft of a gearbox for motor vehicles, having controlling units for introducing a sensor-monitorable rotational or translational movement to the gear-shift-lever shaft. A first controlling unit is connected to a second controlling unit and the first controlling unit can in turn be brought into active connection with the gear-shift-lever shaft via at least one articulation.Type: GrantFiled: September 26, 1996Date of Patent: March 2, 1999Assignee: Fichtel & Sachs AGInventors: Jens Dorfschmid, Lutz Leimbach

Patent number: 5810144Abstract: A clutch actuator for a motor vehicle friction clutch has a drive, a gear unit which converts the movement of the drive into a substantially translatory movement of an output member, the excursion of this gear unit being definable with respect to every working direction by at least one stop, and a clutch position detector. A damping device is associated with each stop. In a position of the gear unit in which the gear unit, in a movement directed toward the stop, has reached an exactly defined reference position relative to this stop, this reference position being situated prior to the stop, the damping device can be activated in order to retard the gear unit until the latter comes into contact with the stop.Type: GrantFiled: July 15, 1996Date of Patent: September 22, 1998Assignee: Fichtel & Sachs AGInventors: Lutz Leimbach, Jens Dorfschmid
