  • Publication number: 20090103438
Abstract: Methods and Apparatus are disclosed for grant based adaptive media access control scheduling. According to an embodiment, a method for MAC scheduling of a plurality of data flows for downlink transmission of data bytes is disclosed. The method enables determining a data flow to be scheduled amongst the plurality of data flows based at least in part on one or more Quality of Service (QoS) parameters. The method further enables computing number of data bytes that are associated with the data flow that is determined to be scheduled. Subsequently, the computed number of data bytes is scheduled for transmission. Further, a value is stored in a grant counter that is associated with the data flow that is determined to be scheduled. Based on the scheduling the value stored in the grant counter is modified.

  • Publication number: 20090103089
Abstract: A spectrometer including an entrance slit and the production of the entrance slit. The spectrometer includes a housing, an entrance slit, and an imaging diffraction grating inside the housing for splitting and imaging the light onto an optoelectric detector. The detector is arranged inside the housing. The housing and the base plate are connected to each other by mutually cooperating positioning members. The entrance slit, the positioning members of the base plate and the holding members for receiving and mounting the detecting device are integral parts of the base plate and are produced from the base plate in a precise manner, in a suitable form and in defined mutual positions by, for example, laser cutting or liquid jet cutting. The positioning members of the base plate and/or the holding members for the detecting device can be provided as resilient elements.

  • Publication number: 20070135126
Abstract: A method for the reverse signaling of a transmission service is used during a call from a first telecommunication network. A mobile terminal is called in the supply range of a target switchboard of a digital mobile radio network from the first telecommunication network, and the information completely describing the transmission service which is to be used is exchanged between the mobile terminal and the destination mobile switchboard of the digital mobile radio network, is stored in the destination mobile switchboard and is transported by at least one signaling message ADDRESS COMPLETE, ANSWER to at least one access mobile switchboard involved in the call which to be made, whereupon it is made available.

  • Publication number: 20050131984
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for transmitting data of applications with different quality requirements in a packet-oriented data communication network that comprises communication nodes. The inventive method comprises the following steps: a) limiting the data of every application to a defined bit rate in a communication node to be passed during transmission of the data of the respective application; b) generating and storing application-specific contexts in all communication nodes to be passed during transmission of the data of the respective application; c) reserving, in line with the application-specific contexts, transmission resources in all communication nodes to be passed during transmission of the data of the respective application; d) forwarding, in line with the application-specific contexts, the data of every application from a communication node to be passed by the respective application to another communication node to be passed.

  • Patent number: 6890108
Abstract: The invention relates to a light-mixing rod for homogenizing a light bundle, preferably for use in projection devices, wherein the intensity centroid of the light bundle moves in a longitudinal direction between a light inlet surface and a light outlet surface, and reflecting surfaces are present in the light-mixing rod, the surface normals of said reflecting surfaces being perpendicular or inclined relative to said longitudinal direction, with partial beams being reflected by said reflecting surfaces so as to guide the light bundle. Light emitting diodes having a direction of action oriented toward the interior space and having a defined radiation characteristic are provided in the lateral surfaces of the light-mixing rod and/or in the light inlet surface for the purpose of forming the light bundle.
