  • Patent number: 8194539
Abstract: A system and method for monitoring congestion in a communication system including an external packet switched network. The communication system includes a plurality of interconnected host devices, such as base stations, consoles, zone controllers. To determine the presence of congestion on links between a pair of host devices, a series of sequential packets are transmitted between the pair. The sequentially transmitted packets are then monitor fluctuations in transmission delays and lost packets. These two criteria are used to identify congestion levels present on the various links in the communication system, and communications on the relevant interzone link are controlled based on the identified congestion level.

  • Patent number: 7957729
Abstract: The present invention relates to communication system comprising first and second communication devices (11,12) each capable of communicating with a telecommunications network (10), and both being connectable to each other by a data link (17) for information transfer and to a method for operating the same. The first communication device (11) contains individual information, and the second communication device (12) comprises a special memory area (21) for storing individual information acquired from the first communication device (11). To enable an improved and facilitated usage of the system comparator means (22) for comparing the individual information contained in the first communication device (11) with that stored in the special memory area (21) of the second communication (12) device are provided.

  • Patent number: 7801285
Abstract: In a communication device (20) comprising a message function (SMS, Short Message Service) a certain short message (7) or other reply message is sent in response to an incoming call in a situation where the user can't answer the call him/herself. The reply message can be sent immediately (9) or after a short delay (10, 11), whereby during the delay, the user can choose, whether he/she answers him/herself. The calling party (5) is identified from the CLI information (Caller Line Identity), whereby the reply message can be chosen according to the calling party. Time information can be included in the reply message in order to express at which time by the clock or after a how long time the receiving party is reachable. After that time the automatic reply function based on the reply message is automatically disconnected.

  • Publication number: 20060100879
Abstract: The present invention relates to a mobile communication device having a speech recognition for selecting and activating device function by acoustic input. Particularly, the present invention relates to a backup method to be used in case of failure of the speech recognition offering an advantageous method for selecting and activating the device functions operable with speech recognition by operation of switches and keys in an easy and fast way. The device functions, i.e. especially dialing of telephone numbers, are organized in data records. On receiving a user input, a list of the data records is displayed to the user. On receiving a further user input, one of the displayed list of data records is identified and an instruction is transmitted to at least one of several applications executed on the mobile communication device.
