  • Patent number: 11666942
Abstract: A haptic transducer is provided, comprising a motor including a yoke, an inner cavity formed by the yoke, and a magnet assembly disposed within the inner cavity; a diaphragm disposed above the magnet assembly; a suspension extending concentrically around the diaphragm and having an inner edge attached to the diaphragm and an outer edge attached to the yoke; a cylindrical coil coupled to the diaphragm and suspended within the inner cavity around the magnet assembly; a first hole extending through the motor; and a second hole axially aligned with the first hole and extending through the diaphragm, a fastener extending through the first hole into the second hole. A footplate system is also provided, comprising a footplate configured for placement in a piece of footwear; a moving motor transducer configured to transfer haptic sensations to the footplate; and a top fastener configured to secure the haptic transducer to the footplate.

  • Publication number: 20220000213
Abstract: Embodiments include a footplate device for placement in a piece of footwear, the footplate device including a toe portion defined at a first end of the footplate device and a heel portion defined at a second end of the footplate device opposite the first end. The device further including a flexible portion disposed between the toe portion and the heel portion, the flexible portion configured to have a first stiffness that is less than a second stiffness of the toe portion and the heel portion. The device further includes a transducer mounting portion defined within the flexible portion and a haptic transducer fixedly attached to the transducer mounting portion such that the haptic transducer causes a displacement of the flexible portion relative to the toe portion and the heel portion of the footplate device.

  • Patent number: 11086400
Abstract: Embodiments include a method for controlling an output generated by a haptic device, using an electronic device communicatively coupled to the haptic device and having a touch-sensitive surface and a display. The method comprises displaying a first graphical object comprising a plurality of intensity level markers representing different vibrational intensity levels; displaying a second graphical object on top of at least a portion of the first graphical object; detecting a contact at a first location of the touch-sensitive surface; detecting a movement of the contact across the touch-sensitive surface to a second location of the touch-sensitive surface; and in response to the detected movement: adjusting a size of the second graphical object from a first size to a second size corresponding to a second intensity level marker, and causing the haptic device to change the selected vibrational intensity level to a second vibrational intensity level represented by the second marker.

  • Publication number: 20080301579
Abstract: An interface for navigating and previewing content is provided. In one example, an interface includes a plurality of content modules displayed in a two-dimensional array, each content module associated with a summary of content and an initial display. The initial display may include, for example, an image and text associated with the content. Selection of a content module causes a display of the summary of the content within the display space of the content module, and subsequent to the selection (e.g., in response to a user selecting a new content module or indicating they are done) the content module display is different than the initial display, thereby allowing a user to determine which content modules have been previously selected. The summary of the content may include a portion of the associated content, and may further include a link for accessing the associated content.
