  • Publication number: 20230086549
Abstract: The invention regards a method for electrochemical ammonia synthesis, comprising the steps of: providing at least one electrolysis cell; contacting the cathode with a source of lithium cations, nitrogen, and protons; and subjecting the cathode to a continuous pulsed cathode potential, including a pulsed cathodic current load, wherein the cathode potential is pulsed between the lithium reduction potential and a less negative cathode potential, whereby ammonia is synthesized.

  • Patent number: 9889403
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for the selective catalytic reduction of NOx in waste/exhaust gas by using ammonia provides by heating one or more salts of formula Ma(NH3)nXz, wherein M represents one or more cations selected from alkaline earth metals and transition metals, X represents one or more anions, a represents the number of cations per salt molecule, z represents the number of anions per salt molecule, and n is a number of from 2 to 12, the one or more salts having been compressed to a bulk density above 70% of the skeleton density before use thereof.

  • Patent number: 8578702
Abstract: A method of storing and delivering ammonia and the use of electromagnetic radiation for desorption of ammonia from a chemical complex. Solid metal ammine complexes are applied for safe and high-density storage of ammonia to be released for use as reducing agent in selective catalytic reduction of NOx in exhaust gases. The compositional formula of the metal ammine complexes is M(NH3)nXz, where M2+ represents one or more metal ions capable of binding ammonia, X represents one or more anions, n is the coordination number (from 2 to 12), and z the valency of the metal ion (and thus the total number of compensating anion charges). Ammonia is released non-thermally by photon-activation using electromagnetic irradiation of the complex bond between ammonia coordinated to the metal ion.

  • Publication number: 20110060174
Abstract: Provided is a catalyst including a mixture of metal A selected from Fe, Co and Ni, and metal B selected from Zn and Ga, and a support material, where the two metals are present in an intermetallic composition; A method for the manufacture of the catalyst; and the use of the catalyst for the selective hydrogenation of acetylene to ethylene in a gas mixture including acetylenic impurities and hydrogen, and one or more of ethylene and carbon monoxide. The catalyst has a high selectivity and is based an easily available metal compounds.
