  • Patent number: 11400760
Abstract: The invention relates to vehicle tires for utility vehicles, comprising a belt (9) and a tread profile that extends in the axial direction A of the vehicle tire between two tire shoulders, in each of which a profiled shoulder strip (19) is formed that extends over the circumference of the vehicle tire. The profiled shoulder strip is delimited in the axial direction A towards the equatorial plane Ä of the tire by a groove (20), which extends over the circumference of the vehicle tire, and on the profiled strip face facing away from the equatorial plane Ä by a respective surface of the tire lateral wall (2), which forms the profiled shoulder strip (19) flank facing away from the equatorial plane Ä. The tread profile is delimited by a surface which forms the road contact surface on the sectional planes containing the tire axis, said surface forming a surface contour line K which is curved towards the tire between the profiled shoulder strips (19).

  • Publication number: 20140020802
Abstract: A vehicle pneumatic tire for utility vehicles has a tread profile in which a shoulder profile band (19) is formed. The shoulder profile band (19) is bounded by a groove (20) and by a flank surface of the side wall (2) of the tire. The surface which forms the road contact surface is formed in the shoulder profile band (19) in a first extension (21) having a width (a) up to an inflection point (P) as a prolongation of the curved surface contour line (K) and in a second extension (22) of width (b) where b<B starting from the inflection point (P) up to the flank surface side wall (2) in a linear fashion at an angle (?) of inclination with respect to a tangent to the surface contour line (K) at the point (P) where 3°???25°.

  • Publication number: 20120267020
Abstract: The invention relates to a vehicle pneumatic tyre for utility vehicles having a tread (1) which is composed of a radially outer, profiled region (6) and a trimming margin (7) which adjoins this profiled region (6) radially on the inside, and the profiled region has a certain gross volume, wherein the profiled region (6) has a radial thickness (a) and at least two circumferential grooves (3), running in the circumferential direction, of a certain radial depth (4). The invention is deleted by the fact that the groove volume (VR) is less than or equal to 16% of the gross volume of the profiled region (VpB), that the profiled region (6) has a radial thickness (a) of 6-25 mm, and that the trimming margin has a radial thickness (h) greater than 5 mm.

  • Publication number: 20110048603
Abstract: A pneumatic vehicle tire for commercial utility vehicles has a tread with at least two circumferential grooves which run in the circumferential direction and divide the tread into circumferential ribs. A gross tread volume is defined by an envelope running in the tread parallel to the periphery of the tread and touching the lowest circumferential groove(s) from the inside radially, together with the periphery of the tread and flank portions at the shoulders. A groove volume is defined by all the grooves in the tread. The groove volume in the tread is between 1% and 10% of the gross tread volume.

  • Publication number: 20080142132
Abstract: The invention relates to a vehicle tire, especially utility vehicle tire, comprising a tread which has a tread cap (9) and a tread base (8), both produced from a rubber mixture, and a multilayer ply structure (3, 4, 5, 6) with at least one undertread strip (7, 7?) covering the ply edges and separating the same from the tread base, said undertread strip being likewise produced from a rubber mixture. The aim of the invention is to reduce temperature and heat build-up in the area of the ply edges. For this purpose, the tread base (8) has a heat conductivity that is by at least 20% higher than that of the tread cap (9) and a heat conductivity that is by at least 10% higher than that of the one or more undertread strips (7, 7?), and the tread base (8) contains at least 25 phr of acetylene black.
