  • Patent number: 9695297
Abstract: The invention aims to improve temperature resistance for a curable composition based on a silyl-terminated polymer. This is achieved by using a combination of at least two phenolic compounds, of which one is free of thioether groups, while the other contains at least one thioether group in at least one alkyl side chain. The invention further relates to the use of the curable composition as an adhesive, sealant and/or coating substance and to the use of the combination of phenolic compounds to increase the temperature stability in curable compositions.

  • Publication number: 20130280530
Abstract: In the context of a curable agent based on at least one silyl-terminated polymer, the adhesion spectrum for bonding plastics, and the speed at which adhesion builds up, are to be improved. This is achieved by making available a curable agent containing two components (1) and (2) that are not in mutual contact, where component (1) contains at least one polymer having at least one terminal group of formula (I) -An-CH2—SiXYZ (I), in which A is a divalent bonding group, X, Y, Z are, mutually independently, are C1 to C8 alkyl, C1 to C8 alkoxy, or C1 to C8 acyloxy groups, where at least one of the substituents is a C1 to C8 alkoxy or C1 to C8 acyloxy group, and n is 0 or 1; and component (2) contains at least water and at least one silanol condensation catalyst. A further subject of the present invention is the use of the agent according to the present invention as an adhesive and/or sealant.

  • Patent number: 8450411
Abstract: A solvent-free and anhydrous hardenable composition that contains at least one polymer A. Polymer A being obtainable by reacting a polyether with at least one ethylenically unsaturated silane in the presence of a radical starter, the ethylenically unsaturated silane carrying at least one hydrolyzable group on the silicon atom. The composition provides low viscosity prior to curing along with good elasticity after curing and a broad adhesion spectrum in a solvent-free and water-free hardenable composition. Also methods for producing the composition and use of the composition as an adhesive, sealant, or coating agent.

  • Publication number: 20110224359
Abstract: The invention relates to a controlled polymerization process for preparing (meth)acrylate-based AB diblock copolymers with a B block which has a narrow monomodal molecular weight distribution, and an A block which has a broad bimodal molecular weight distribution, and to the use thereof, for example, as a binder in adhesives or sealants.
