  • Patent number: 11020527
Abstract: An injector is provided for performing an injection operation comprising a housing (104), a needle extendable from a front end of the housing, a rear end of the housing and a longitudinal axis extending between the front end and the rear end, a safety pin (116) in an actuation locked position coupled to the housing and moveable to a safety released position coupled to the housing. The injector is locked against actuation when the safety pin is in the actuation locked position and the injector is ready for actuation of the injection operation when the safety pin is in the safety released position.

  • Publication number: 20120190128
Abstract: A modular microfluidic sample preparation system (1), wherein the system comprises a first preparation module (2). The first preparation module (2) comprising a first surface (24) and an opposing second surface (25) and being delimited by first lateral faces (7). The first preparation module (2) comprises an outlet (38) arranged at the second surface (25) of the first preparation module (2) and an inlet (4), the inlet (4) and the outlet (38) being connected via a first microfluidic channel system (26). A second preparation module (3) comprises a first surface and an opposing second surface and being delimited by second lateral faces (8). Said second preparation module (3) further comprises an intake (10). The intake (10) being connected to a second microfluidic channel system (50). The first preparation module (2) is connected to the second preparation module (3) so that the second surface (25) faces the first surface of the second preparation module (3) and so that the outlet (38) faces the intake (10).

  • Publication number: 20110269249
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device and a method for clustering and subsequently distributing a plurality of paramagnetic particles in a small volume liquid in a chamber, said chamber having a first wall and an opposite second wall, said method comprising the steps of a) providing a liquid comprising the plurality of paramagnetic particles, b) subjecting the paramagnetic particles to a first magnetic field by means of a first field generating means having first and second mutually spaced opposite poles and defining a first pole axis extending between the poles, the field generating means being arranged relative to the first wall so that the first pole axis (a1) forms an angle (v1) of less than 60° with the first wall, c) moving the magnetic field in a first moving direction having a movement component in the direction of the first pole axis, or, alternatively, changing the polarity of the magnetic field one or more times, and, d) removing the magnetic field.

  • Publication number: 20110045505
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device and a method for quantitative detecting of the presence or absence of a target analyte in a liquid sample having a volume of less than 200 ?l, the device comprising a reaction chamber in the form of a capillary channel, a first part comprising a sample inlet for the introduction of a sample containing an analyte, and a discharge outlet for the discharge of waste products; a second part comprising means for detection of the target analyte, and a solution inlet for introduction of washing solutions and reaction mixtures; and means for transferring an immobilized analyte from the first part to the second part of the chamber and vice versa, where the first and second parts are separated such that other liquid sample material may not enter the second part of the chamber and such that light may not be transferred from the first part of the chamber to the detector part of the second part of the chamber.

  • Publication number: 20070111940
Abstract: Novel peptide agonists of GLP-1 activity useful for lowering blood glucose levels. The novel peptides comprise variants of the GLP-1 or the exendin-4 polypeptide sequence and are pharmacologically active and stable. These peptides are useful in the treatment of diseases that benefit from regulation of excess levels of blood glucose and/or regulation of gastric emptying, such as diabetes and eating disorders.
