In order to be able to follow the belt strap movements, the head protection system is swivellably fastened by way of a ball joint on the upper edge of a seat backrest.

In addition, it protects the head from vehicle body parts that penetrate the occupant department. Via the individual chambers, an L-shape of the air bag can be constructed which is optimal for the desired purpose. In addition, the division into several chambers permits longer and therefore less aggressive inflation times.
